If you are GA, and Sharpe comes to you and says we have been given funds by Stefan to make two big, key signings this summer, which positions would you fill, and with who?

For me, I think we need a new CB and CM to strengthen the spine of the team. Experienced, commanding leaders - especially in CM.

I’ve no idea who is available, but we need a gritty ball winning CM to finally replace Gary Jones and a pacier CB now JT is set to return.

I accept we may need a new LWB if Wright is going back to Plymouth, but we need two leaders to plug those holes first and foremost IMO and worry about the other positions after.

I said earlier …A commanding Centre Half who can tag along with goals now and again. Mansfield did it with Flint and looking back Stevenage did it with Pierganni. Critical imho and Oggy to play on his right…Let Platt go!

Oggy has looked better since he came back and defo has pace, but I’m not convinced! That said, a few other City fans I know really rate him as well. Maybe its just me being a bit cynical! Is he out of contract at Brentford?

New right sided CB, cover at left sided CB, new left WB, cover at right WB. Competition in the middle of the pitch. New back up keeper.

Ditch McDonald, Chapman, Oliver, Derbyshire, Taylor & Oduor

I think you can make an argument for strengthening pretty much any position bar maybe first choice goalkeeper and right back.

Priorities would definitely be centre half, centre midfield and left (wing) back.

I'm hoping Platt will stay. Look what happened in the league games he didn't play this season. We lost 8, drew 4 and won 1. 39 possible points and we ended up with just 7. If he doesn't stay he'll not be playing in league 2 next season.

Yes in a few weeks but there are options ……not clear who with. However that’s easy to negotiate in any deal.

He didn’t start off well, added to playing him in midfield or wing back was a nonsense, I’ll give you that .

Left back/wing back is a huge need, a commanding CB who can stay fit. Midfield depth for sure if a huge need for next season. And a proper backup keeper to challenge Walker would be nice.

Would love Flint and Pierganni Kev, now they would be some defenders!

They are very interesting stats. He is a solid defender, but watching on Saturday it was noticeable how poor his distribution was. Often under little pressure he gave the ball away, I'm not sure we can accommodate this if we want to be challenging for the automatics next year.

I agree. If they do not sign a commanding midfielder this window somebody is going to feel my wrath. I know it will not be cheap but then nothing of real value is!

He has said his goodbye’s on X. Therefore I doubt he will be back.

His distribution is not perfect but few in this season's squad is. His long diagonals to Halliday though are generally pretty good.

A new CB and box to box midfielder with energy are key. Even though we have started to do well with 3 at the back, I'd prefer us to adjust it to a 4321, so that we have 3 in midfield over 2. Then I would retain Platt, Kelly and try to bring back Oyegoke. The rest of the CB's can go for me and bring in 1 or 2 CBs of experience and quality. We need a quality LB, or LWB if we stay we 3 at the back regardless even just having Wright made a difference over Rides. I think Smallwood will be retained, I can take or leave him but he needs the players around him to not isolate his lack of mobility and also that means we need a set piece specialist. We need a quality striker to finally challenge Cook with more pace and mobility. It may mean selling Young, who despite doing well elsewhere has done nothing in claret and amber, Kav has over double his league goals for us already. For once it really does need to be quality over quantity. 4 or 5 players who will walk into the first 11 and make a difference would be the difference between 9th and title challengers. This would be how I see the team, in a 4321 or 433:

    Walker

    Halliday
    Platt/Oyegoke
New CB/Kelly as a back up
    New LB

    Smallwood/or another if not retained
    Walker
    Pattison/New box to box CM

    Pointon
    Kavanagh
    Cook/New Striker

Then no doubt we will keep a few of the others such as Oduor as back up, but those I've not mentioned I wouldn't be bothered if they left, and in some cases we need to certainly shift them. We would also need some players with pace to challenge Pointon and Kavanagh of course.

Think Oyegoke has been largely poor since he’s been here. We can do better.
