Reports saying Gordon is close to signing for Cambridge. Shame if we’re out of the picture, would have liked to have seen him and Smith in the same squad.

What about the Leicester lad....is that a no go now we signed Wilson? I believe the Leicester kid is capable of playing up top.

I was just about to post the same question Serg. All seems to have gone very quiet on that one doesn't it?

He is a forward, LW/CF by trade. Im not totally convinced he is required. The squad will be busting at the seams when Chapman and Oliver are back. That won't be too long.

I would prefer a CB to another forward if I am honest.

Just under 38 hours to go. No solid links other than twitter rumours about a Hartlepool youth and a loan for the Leister striker. Looking at the squad I wouldn't be surprised if no more faces were added. Might be one out one in situations if Odusina or Hendrie are moved on.

But doesn’t the club have to pay a portion of the wages for the player?
BTW I am very much a madam, female, woman.

Pointon impressing has negated the need for possibly one forward type player, especially with Chapman to come back. Still think we are lacking a forward and a midfield back up to Smallwood and MacDonald

You not feeling the Gilliead love??? If Hughes persists with the 3-4-3 then its 2 of McDonald, Smallwood, Pattison and Gilliead. Seem ok for numbers. Osadebe kicking around too.

It's not such an issue as some have made out. Considering MK Dons, the footie club in isolation doesn't explain the whole story.

At face value, MKD does hold a considerable debt but all of MKD's debt comes from other companies in the same group of companies based in the MKD stadium. That includes, amongst others, a hotel and an events company which stages concerts, conferences etc at the stadium. Both of the companies are reasonably sized - the hotel for example has turnover of >£10m - and very profitable. These other companies effectively subsidise the football side by providing them with loans from their own profits to finance MKD's losses. Winkelman who with his wife owns all of these companies has already said publicly that these loans won't start to be repaid until the football club can afford to do so. That won't be for some time! The Group itself has almost no external debt. The debt in MKD's accounts is simply inter-company loans from within the same group..

It's not as if an external lender, a bank or another wealthy individual say, is in a position to pull the plug.

    Apologies on my part……Sorry.

Not always the case , loans are varied. A fee and wages or just wages or a portion of wages, or no portion at all. ( The loaning club are perhaps “ paying” for the players development)

Im sure @Jordan@Jordan will help to confirm.

Usually varied. Some clubs would prefer their youth they have good plans for get some gametime and will ask for a smaller portion of the wages to be taken on.

However, I'd say with of age players (24 and up) who go between clubs in the same divisions or maybe L1 to L2, more often that not the club will take the player on loan and 100% of his wages or as near as because clubs in L1&2 have stricter budgets. Guessing MK will be covering most if not all Paynes salary on the final year of his Charlton deal. I find the deal just bizarre really as they already had Dan Kemp, loaned him to Swindon who is probably at this stage a better attacking threat than Payne and he'll be on a smaller salary than Payne. Don't get that one at all unless it's a personality or off the field thing between player and manager.

At L2 level he has finished on 8 (as a kid) and more recently 13 with Swindon.

MK Dons will be a top side in this division so 10 should be well within his reach.

I am just little bit sensitive on the female front tbh. It seems a loud and aggressive lobby would like to extinguish biological females. Or a peadophile who immediately identifies as a woman to try and avoid a male prison. Well off topic now, I will have the mods after me.

Just had a look into their systems, they don't even use a number 10, which might explain Kemp going out but not Payne coming in, unless they plan on using him deep? Had a brief look into their forum other day, sounded like they wanted defensive options rather than another attacking minded player.
