Long way to go and lets face it, completely wrong already about Pattison. You wrote him off...

    PS we beat Accrington.

Half the season will have gone by the transfer window. If they continue to get 1 point per three games, then they will be looking the other way by the transfer window. They brought on Ollie Crankshaw tonight, who they obviously haven’t been able to off load since his underwhelming stint at Motherwell.
Our recruitment is what it is, but I don’t think Stockport are going to set the league alight after their performance tonight.

We did draw to be fair, can’t say otherwise when the game finished 1-1…..,

On penalties.. we drew in normal time. It’s completely different way of winning.

Anyway if winning is the correct way of winning, it’s not even a debate worth having.

Draw your away games and win your home games is promotion form. An away point (and could have won it) is good no doubt.

The record books say we won the game. Its as simple as that.

If the game had gone to extra time and we had scored to win the game 2-1 would you still be claiming it was a draw??? Dont confuse league games with cup games.

We need 3 quality loan players - pacy CB, LWB and ST. Next 2 weeks are pivotal, get the recruitment right and we should have a good chance of promotion, if not.........

If it was 2-1 we’d have won! It was 1-1 (and against a second string team as well).
Most of the post he was talking drivel, which I’m sure we agree on, but the draw comment was right.

I think we still need a left wing back and a younger tall alternative for Cook.

Dunno how true it is, but a guy who called the Tyler Smith signing weeks before it became official on another general football forum I follow is saying that City had pretty much spent our budget before the East and Young loan deals gave us some wiggle room. Looking for cheaper PL/CH loan moves where the parent clubs cover a majority of the wages to fill out spots.

The guy has like a patchy at best record, but it wouldn't surprise me if we were approaching our spend limit. Seems like Stockport are in a similar boat, their fans want another forward after all their injuries but the club have pretty much spent up.

For all that Hughes places emphasis on 'playing out from the back', we still don't know how to do it. McDonald may change that, but our biggest threats in the few games this season have been from going direct to Cook with Pattison running beyond him, or breaking quickly. When the play is set and we're trying to 'play out', we look a bigger threat to ourselves than the opposition.

Would imagine it’s true… how poor with again record turnover we have assembled this squad with so many square pegs in round holes.

Some on here still believe RS and Rupp are doing a great job. Wish some fans would wake up and see a total balls up they’ve made in recruitment of managers and players and how much that has probably cost us.

This summer looks like a cost cutting exercise to me. Although, we shouldn't lose sight of where we've handed out long term contracts to players who feature little, or who've even moved on. Oliver, East, Young, Derbyshire, Hendrie, Odusina were all given 2 or 3 year contracts. What a waste of money!

Sparks was blowing his trumpet recently saying how well he'd done on the commercial side of the club. In fairness, with an annual turnover around £8.3m, almost the highest in our league, somebody is doing a good job. The bigger question f9r me is how that is being used to improve the first team squad. FFP certainly has a bearing on that but under the current rules, the playing budget could increase to a little over £4.5mill without breaching the FFP rules. Does our current squad look like a £4.5m squad? Not in my opinion. 2 years ago, the playing budget was about £2.4m as per the club's accounts. I don't imagine for one moment that the current squad would be costing the club almost twice what it did 2 years ago. I can only conclude that the extra commercial income Sparks is so proud of isn't finding its way into the playing budget to increase the chances of us getting promoted.

In unrelated news, Stefan Rupp has bought a brand new yacht.

And I’m sure you couldn’t run a hot bath! Stop making oneself look silly , you know less about management than I know about knitting, unless you can tell me your management history.
