Who ever it is they look to be going down this road, and if last season is anything to go by it looks to be working :
"In order to compete with clubs that have far bigger budgets than them, staff at Brighton & Hove Albion have adopted a 'Moneyball' approach to recruitment that focuses heavily on data, analytics, and untapped potential".

Brighton are one of the teams that are an example to others of how to compete on a lower budget. There are a few teams across the leagues with a similar ethos we should learn from them

    Great film that.

Its working too. They keep finding gem after gem and selling on for huge profits. A continuous cycle.

I'll have to give it a watch when fans mention it with regards the likes of Brentford, Luton ETC they could be talking double Dutch for me.

Hopefully they and more importantly the fans know it's a continuous cycle. It did at Southampton for a little time, when they sold on some gems their either produced or bought in when they came back up, the fan base thought all this money we made in profit needs spending and the hierarchy thought with the money they can make the jump up to challenge more..... massive mistake.

If the fan base start questioning the same way others have before about trying to make that next challenging leap to maintaining a Europe run every season, it could all go wrong if the board fold on their plan. As these lads they find wont be on big money, I doubt they are even on average prem money most of them. The scouting network is incredible though, and they are on a golden run at the minute of finding these 18-21 year olds and selling them for huge profits 2 or 3 years later. Hopefully the fan base are also aware that not every one is going to come off and again, don't pressure the situation. At some point, they aren't going to unearth a MacAllister and Caicedo per summer and hopefully they have enough stock in the bank when that wavering season or two comes in.

Worst thing for them would be for people to demand this hundreds of millions they've made in transfer profit starts going to proven lads in their mid 20s+ and suddenly starting to pay £100k a week plus on players, which they've never done before to maintain European dreams of the fanbase.

    Now announced as Nick Buxton.

It was just a suggestion XCIV, given that the wording from Bradford End was familiar 'face' rather than specifically 'player'.

    In other L2 transfer news.....

It looks like we will be seeing Alex Bass again next season, he is set to join AFC Wimbledon on loan. Bolton defensive midfielder MJ Williams is expected to join MK Dons. Williams was one of the key signing Bolton made in the January window of their L2 season. Also MK Dons forward Sully Kaikai has rejected their contract offer and is now on trial at Rotherham.

Left back Scott Malone is on trial with Gillingham for their pre-season tour of Italy after his release by Millwall earlier in the summer. Salford have turned down a £400K bid from Barnsley for Luke Bolton, Barnsley are expected to come back in with another offer for the attacking midfielder/winger. Stockport are close to signing Jordan Smith, the former Nottingham Forest keeper, who will join as the new starting goalie.

Wrexham have had an approach turned down for Kal Naismith by Bristol City with the forward believed to have little interest in leaving the Championship. Sutton forward Kylian Kouassi is close to joining Blackpool. Finally, Newport County are now believed to have started talks with former Sheff utd defender Kyron Gordon.

Good to hear Hollywood Wales FC not getting their own way in the transfer market. Obviously not used to players turning down their advances last couple of years
