Last seven matches W3, D3, L1. Not far off automatic promotion form.

Played against four teams with serious promotion aspirations, with three of those away from home.

And then there was Rochdale

I think the dropping of Cook, was a masterstroke by Hughes.

We've seen before that after a fifteen or so game run - Cook sometime run out of gas. No great harm was done - we picked up more points per game than previously and then he comes back with a point to prove and sufficiently motivated

Nobody would have taken 8th position at this stage at the start of the season. Not a single person. We should be looking to put some distance between ourselves and the play off positions at this stage. The target was automatics. We were the bookies favourites. Instead we are in the pack with the other mid table sides. Our home form has been dire this season. Today we can celebrate but the season has been disappointing by any objective standard.

Of course its been disappointing so far.

    Well we sit in 8th.

Automatic form or not. We have lots of work to do.

I was very disappointed with our first half performance and if you weren't you're by yourself.

I'll go with mistake. I think he's now realised his error and stuck him back in. You just cannot leave out such a goal threat, especially when you lack goals elsewhere.

Never showed it on TV but the stewards should have let him have a go, Cook would have knocked him out then set Walker up for the winner **so funny**so funny.

Who cares what the bookies think, it's a popularity contest and nothing more.

I had us down as a play off side the whole time, and am not too disappointed at all.

Everyone was poor first half Tony we created nothing, hence why I had little faith we could turn it around when the same 11 came out for the second half, I was far from convinced they could but delighted to be proved wrong, now we have to make sure Tranmere get nothing from Tuesday nights game,

I get you're not happy, but please don't make things up.

We're 6 points behind the 4th placed team with a game in hand and 7 behind the 3rd place one, with two games in hand.

At this time in the Covid truncated season, we were 7 points off the auto's having played two more and our form was so bad that we sacked Bowyers. So explain how that was better than where we are now.

    2020/21 season. 6 points off the play-offs

Last season. 6 points off the play-offs having played a game more.

We've just played five promotion contenders, with three away from home plus two of them the form horses of the division and won two of them and not lost any.

Nothing is sorted yet. There's still a lot of hard work to done. But this pessimism is unwarranted. L2 is a terrible league and now we're releasing this and playing the type of footie needed to get success, i.e. not great on the eye at all times (although both the Salford and Mansfield matches were amongst the two better D4 matches I've seen)
