True, but what stopped him bringing in 13 quality players and not bothering with delfounso, Elliott, Threlkeld, lavery, kelleher & Robinson.

 

You're cherry picking your periods. Yes. He's wanted us to be 'self sustaining' during the last 15 months - but you seem to forget that he had dip his hand into his pocket to cover our relegation, Rahic fiasco etc.

He has no need to invest more. Our playing budget is one of the best in this division. Unless you think him putting more in, so he's owed more and so that makes a sale even more impossible is a good idea.

Unsurprisingly, once you've given a manager a decent budget, it comes down to employing a manager and giving them longer than 30 to 40 matches. Even Neville, new to this CEO game, at Salford has finally realised that - Salford have started to get a bit more consistency, now that he's decided to give a manager a decent shot at achieving success.

 

You do realise players have the choice whether or not to come don’t you? Adams was on record saying he didn’t get any first choice pics and when Robinson was about to sign he said sometimes you have to settle for your 5th or 6th choice, I think there’s a pretty big clue there. True he could have brought in different cheap journeymen or a few less, but I’m going to go with we’d have similar results.

 

I’m not at all I’m stating facts we’re a self sustaining club, you specifically talked about Adams being backed. When he put money in the club Adams wasn’t here. Also it’s his own negligence why he let Rahic loose, hence why he even himself apologised and stated he’d put it right. How’s treat going? Not to mention the McBurnie money I’m sure covered most if not all the costs.

People like yourself and Park defended Rahic way past the damage been done to the club, now we’re seeing an exact carbon copy.

As for our playing budget been one of the best shall we wait for evidence? We have large overheads, probably more than anyone on the league which contribute towards our so called top budget.

Do I want Rupp to put loads of money in? No, I want him to leave or hire decent quality professionals in the correct position. Such as not letting Sparks who had no prior footballing knowledge to joining us as a social media worker, run the entire footballing side of things resulting in us looking for our 4th permanent manager in 16 months. And two totally different philosophies in that time to go with the false promises of promotion and not acceptable mediocrity.

Steve Evans is garbage without money. With unlimited resources, Evans will get a team promoted, IE, Rotherham. With limited resources he will get a team relegated, IR, Gillingham

Your "garbage" comment is not supported by the facts. Gillingham have had consistently the lowest budgets in L1, certainly since they got promoted with us in 2013.

Yet, the only time they've had two consecutive Top 10 finishes, surely the hallmark of how good a manager is, was under Evans.

You are however, correct about one thing - it won't happen. If Sparks hasn't the bottle to support Adams the minute a few idiots moan about the footie, then he certainly hasn't the bottle to take on Evans.

Exactly. Not going to happen though is it. Indeed, Evans has sacked by MacAnthony after just 12 months in charge previously. Its very bizarre that the Posh owner had been advocating that we appoint Evans in the past.

Good article by Jason McKeown on WOAP on why we shouldn't entertain Evans. Let's just hope that Sparks and Rupp don't fall for Evans dubious charm
