I watched this on the news this morning. Heartbreaking to see such active men reduced to this.
My wife says i am hard when it comes to all things emotional , but this brought a tear to my eyes.
An illness , we need to find a cure or some sort of treatment for as soon as possible.
God bless all three of them.

Excellent. I've also had confirmation that my nomination of Darbs for an MBE is being processed, though it could take up to 18 months

 

Pleased to see the 3 of them looking as well as they do. My sons best mates mum got the same diagnosis 18 months ago and she’s in a far worse condition. The boys are 11 - makes you re-evaluate what’s important.

Im not sure that's true, covid has fundamentally changed clinical research. There's a number of papers in the Lancet you can read about it but in regards to ALS or MND there are new gene therapies now being developed that use the same technology as the Pfizer and Moderna mRNA vaccines. Obviously these two vaccines were the first time that mRNA has been cleared for use in humans.

They may not cure the disease completely, but the tests they have done so far show that the mRNA therapy is able to reduce significantly the accumulation of mutated cells which leads to degradation before it has a chance to aggregate and multiply. Therefore, if you can catch it early enough the treatment could significantly slow down the progress of the disease.

Hopefully now the mRNA technology has been fast tracked via the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, they can move to human trials.

 

Puts into context the fact that all some of us have to moan about is the delay in naming the new manager.........

i think that is the link to the one that was broadcast just over a year ago. This is the link to the latest one. Very sad how they have deteriorated in 12 months. Must admit Darbs brought a tear to my eye too.
