    scunthorpe players obviously aren't running through brick walls for SMc either;
    - 5 consecutive defeats for 1st time since 2011, 4-1 home defeat to a side that hadn't won away since february, 3+ goals conceded in 4 of last 6 matches, 34 goals conceded this season.

    They couldn't bring Tony Mc on till the end as he would have spilled too many beans, I just hope for Christ sake he doesn't give a penalty away when Oxford play us....................................for those of you who weren't there, with us being in such a poor way he offered to give us a penalty, the FL will be all over him [IMG]

    I hate poor excuses in the work place.

    Pride is Pride - no matter how, or what colour you paint it !
    Would you have your own kin suffer, just to prove a point ?

    NO, absolutely NOT !!!!

    Suffice to say we disagree on that one. On a human level, I think it's a shocking way to treat someone.

    And in business terms, it's stupid too. Turning down a fee for a player who we were planning to let go just a few months later?

    In any industry throughout the world, this is simply an appalling way to treat employees. Naturally if a contract is in place then ultimately it’s the deciding final factor, however in modern day IMO this is simply an unacceptable way to operate. I’d say there could be an element of shrewd business, but given what unraveled following that and the fact that financially we were no better off, proves another horrible decision by Voldemort. If there’s no intention of keeping a player, for the good of the player and club, let him go if there’s a bid on the table.

    Easy to assume the atmosphere in the dressing room at that time will have been flat to say the least.

    At the end of the day McMahon had a contract to play for us until the end of the season, if we'd sold him without getting a right back in I can only imagine what the response would have been.

    In fact, City tried to sign a replacement in Kelvin Mellor, and Blackpool simply ignored the offer, seems like Mellor didn't throw a strop and unsettle their dressing room in response.

    Have you any proof he threw a strop and unsettled the dressing room or is that just hearsay ?

    I kinda see where you’re coming from but the players can only see through the shit for so long before it starts affecting what happens on the pitch, as quite clearly happened to us.

    I’d venture that what actually happened was, everything had turned to ratshit anyway, but Stuart held it together and as soon as he was booted, the was the final straw and we fell off the end of a cliff.

    Forgive me if I miss a few details, I've had a few sleeps since then! Jagger was asked by a fan if he had any advice for Hopkin on how to deal with a meddling owner as a boss.

    Jewell went into an account about a meeting he had with BFG following a 4-0 loss to Coventry. Richmond wanted to discuss tactics. Jewell said that Richmond was unhappy about how the team had played and had some suggestions for the next match. Jewell thought, well the f-ing cheek of it but that he'd entertain Geoffrey. So Richmond started jotting down on a piece of paper about how the team should start in a certain formation and when they were one or two up at half time, should revert to another formation. Our next match was against Man Utd and Richmond was talking about being one or two up at half time!

    Jewell said that throughout the meeting Richmond was getting more excitable and ended by asking if he'd try it with the lads in training. To which Jewell agreed knowing full well that he wouldn't. The next day Richmond asked excitably how it went in training, Jewell replied that the lads didn't really take to it to a disappointed BFG. That game was the game that Scholes scored that stunner so tactics went out the window anyway.

    The underlying message from Jewell though was that you have to manage above as much as you manage below and that if he'd told Richmond what he really thought of him then he'd have been out of the job very quickly.
