He has been the silent partner so far apart from the film and enjoying the limelight last year.

He is also the majority share holder.

So how much does this guy have?

I know that doesn’t necessarily mean he will spend it or even loan it to our club.

Edin has been taking the punches quite rightly, but I want to put the other under the spotlight.

I also think it depends on the contract between the two as to how the club will be run.

There has been various figures put forward over the time Stefan has been involved at the club, information at the time was difficult to get hold of and figures of £100m to £330m were posted, I'm not sure which is the nearest figure if either but to partake in his level of motor sport I would think you have to have a few bob in the bank.

    Does it matter?

Isn't spending it on Bradford City.

Could be a billionaire but making no difference to us.

Yes, but why get involved if you don’t want to invest further monies. Surely he knew that he might have to cough up more in the event we were not promoted? I know they are only here to make money, but as business men they also know sitting on your hands when you need to invest is the road to disaster.

Two different motives Rup to invest to make money, Edin to fulfill an ambition unfortunately the one with the purse strings won’t loosen them

Why? It's not a recent comment from him. He said it at the start of the Matter of Heart film when he first took over the club.

Well in that case he doesn’t believe in throwing in good money after bad. And who can blame him. Maybe he believes he can progress the club without emptying his bank balance. Providing of course the rumours are true. We could be doing him a disservice

No it doesn't mate but it helps make money in other businesses that owners of clubs own.

As several have posted in the past even once you're in the Championship money is difficult to generate because of wages good sides pay in the Championship.

Hasn't this season proved you can't? If only it were so easy.

    Meredith > Chicksen
    Marshall > Gilliead
    Cullen > Reeves
    Clarke > Poleon
    Mcardle > Thompson

Good solid players replaced with cheaper alternatives, no suprise we've regressed.

That's depressing and why the owners need to either put up or get out.

Indeed. But he did recognise that once in the Championship, further investment would be required to make the step up to the PL. I don't recall him being too specific about the source of that investment but at least it suggests he understood that no Championship team has made the leap without extra investment from outside the club. And that really involves the owners or some other wealthy backers taking a very large gamble.

Imo, where they have failed miserably so far is to underestimate the difficulty of getting out of Div 1 without either being incredibly lucky or by ploughing extra money into both the quality and size of the squad. It's very rare to get promotion on the cheap.

What this shows is just how little it takes to compete in such an average division. We aren't talking about a team full of 11 superstars who are earning 6/7k a week. just 4 or 5 good quality league 1 players who can make a difference. After coming so close last and selling a record breaking 20k season tickets, our owners had the ideal platform to invest and show a bit of ambition and i think they will regret not doing so.

Plus not trying to enforce their wage structure.

It shouldn’t be forgotten though that in the two years they have been here we have spent a lot of money for this league on transfer fees. Afters years of spending next to nothing

I know Park, it has switched from paying players good wages to paying clubs selling fees.

and how did they do that, by slashing the wage budget? I'd rather spend the money on wages.
