Cullen loan wasn’t anything we could control but club decision was to get in cheaper alternatives, paying fees even if needed, for players on a lower basic wage (Poleon for 80k ish, 150k on Reeves was it?). -
Just doing the maths of the season ticket sales, they would have brought in not far off £2m or in weekly wages £38k which should be perfectly sufficient at our level (a 25 assumed squad puts that at £1500 per head as average)
We’re covering ourselves fine I’d say, if anything there’s the chance of making a profit this year.
I’m going to assume as was mentioned above that Sparks has had direction to get us back in the black so there’s likely some tied hands when it comes to recruitment and any player fees -

I've said it before. Rupp to Bradford City, is like what Peter Jones is to all the various businesses he funds via Dragons Den. He doesn't really care about these businesses he put money into, and he's certainly not going to be actively managing them, as he's got loads more going on in his portfolio. The reason he put cash in, is that he's hoping to get lucky and the business takes off, and he's handed a return on his investment. As long as he's not losing money, he's going to stay involved - on paper. As soon as he's losing money, or it looks like he might have to put some more in, he'll sell up and be off.
Rupps the same. I don't think we're his only investment. I'm sure he's got loads of others. Some he might even be interested in. Rahic did the Dragons Den sales pitch to him, and he invested. Didn't quite turn out like he invested, but as long as he's not losing more than he's prepared to, why not just let the club tick along incase something happens.
I feel this is why Sparks is so vocal and passionate and positive thinking about the club. He's covering up and putting glitter on, because he knows Rupp won't. I think as time goes on, Sparks will be off. Same way pointy shoes did. You can only falsely smile so much before it starts to hurt. -

Even if he takes a cut on the purchase price of the club he’s going to want a return on his investment that he’s put in to keep the club afloat.

We are back to the same old question. Let's say Rupp will accept half what he paid, so £3m. I still don't see anyone on the horizon who is going to pay that AND also funds to progress the club. It's looking more and more incredible that he paid £6m even though we were in a better place back then

Or as it is now the Premiership. -
For an individual a mortgage comes with considerations that don't apply to a business that should have a long term future I'd much rather Bradford City were currently paying off the mortgage on VP than endlessly paying rent
End of the day it makes no sense for City to be paying rent on the stadium because they could theoretically be doing so for the rest of time unless there are plans for a new stadium you are aware of that I'm not otherwise it's paramount that that money isn't just wasted on Gibb's pension fund and is actually going towards ownership and cost cutting in the long term -
I bang on about him all the time and I know there’s a phrase careful what you wish for but he really is an abysmal owner. Surely with the fan base we have, similar to Portsmouth for example we can look at going for some kind of fan ownership/consortium ?
