Glad you spotted that as well Steve. Did he forget to tell him on his rare as rocking horse shit visit that the ship was sinking quicker than the titanic? Must have forgot in the wave of positivity that greeted Stefan's arrival.

Summoned to Munich you think? All very odd, considering Rupp was over here last week. The way I see it, is that Sparks caught wind of the protest happening tmrw, and hot footed it over to Rupp to pacify him and fill him in on how to "silence the unrest" (writing the letter over a couple of pints in the Saltaire Bar in Leeds/Bradford Airport before departure), whilst assuring him that he's the very best person for the job. Also reminding him of what was promised last time, and what it is the fans don't like. What WILL be interesting, is hearing Spark's version of the open letter, and the follow up about football goings on. I'm going to be very interested to see what sort of tone it's written in. No way he's going to take any responsibility. He's just gonna be blowing his own trumpet about what is about to be achieved.

Whoever wrote this and for whatever reason, the supporters need to maintain the pressure and keep pushing for change.
    Hold them to their words.
Attend the protest, peacefully and let them know we are not going away.

Sparks realising he is on his last legs and jumping on a plane. Literally could have had these conversations a week or two ago in the UK. I swear his statement in 2018/2019 when Rahic left was basically a copy and paste of a lot of this. Says a lot without saying anything.

Feels like a panic move. Am I reading this right, or are they saying other clubs have more money that us, so our squad is naff? When we played Notts on Sky, the commentator said we had the 4th highest budget in the league. When Mansfield played the other week, they said they had the 2nd highest budget..... so it's Wrexham, Mansfield, club X and Us..... i dont think this is a reason at all, just another excuse.

The answer isn’t just to keep putting money in. I believe the budget what we had least season was competitive, the problem was how and where it was spent. I wouldn’t be trusting sparks and gent to be spending any of my money!

Timed to take some of the heat off for tomorrow's game.
Whilst I welcome the sentiment of the letter it needs to backed up genuine action.
It should be clear to Sparks and Rupp that patience has run out. Anything less than tangible evidence of change will only further alienate the fans of this club.
It's very disappointing that it had to get to this stage for Rupp to act (or should I say appear to act).

Talk is cheap and we're well past the empty sentiments of how hard people work and wanting to give fans something to cheer about.
The letter isn't going to make me hit the renew button for my ST.
I'd politely suggest that Ryan and Stephan delay the deadline for renewing until the start of next season.
This will allow for them to implement some of the changes hinted at in this letter. And maybe rebuild some the trust which is very much lacking at the moment.

    Based on what ????
The hatred of this club which for a start is fooking bollocks.
If we hated it so much then why the hell are we putting all this effort into getting rid of folk who clearly dont give a shit and think they can spout bollocks and we all fall for it ??????
Still know doubt if Rupp had told you that bids had been put in for Foden and Saka you would believe him

I actually think there's a sense of embarrassment sinking in with those who've continually tried to lay the blame at the door of the fans whilst blindly backing the club. It must sting that the only sign of any engagement or hint of positive change comes as a result of those who show justified dissent.

Hogwash. GA has said he met Rupp for the first time the Friday before the Mansfield game and they and Sparks had a meeting about next year's budget. Which begs the question why Sparks didn't bring up his concerns about the budget there and then rather than hopping on a plan to Germany this week.

My thoughts are us older ones not going don't take our sons/ grandsons to the game so fans of the future are drying up
I would have a job convincing my grandsons to watch the poor fayre we have been subjected to lately
Don't know about you whether it's rose tinted spectacles or not but I was happier going in the late 60s and 70s we were a poor team a ramshackle ground with not many expectations but somehow I felt more connected and couldn't wait for the next match
Rupp is well wide of the mark with his "statement" as you say nothing concrete no blue print for long and short term future and very little idea as to what/who the problems are I take no optimism from it
Tipping money into it at this stage/structure is not going to solve much only waste it begs the question why now and not when we were a top end L1 side theres so many anomalies

Well, I guess we've got partly what we have been asking for, dialogue from Herr Rupp.

It's strange how it has taken an under pressure Sparks, who will be dreading today's protest, to beg Rupp for help.

Why hasn't Rupp seen it for himself when he was over 2 weeks ago?.

I actually believe Rupp when he talks about increasing budget now and its clear to me he wouldn't do anything to harm us financially.

Talk of Sparks wanting help is key to me. Appoint a real football man such as Jewell as DOF and I would be happy for Sparks to stay in a Commercial and marketing role.

One thing I would have liked Rupp to say is that he would extend the season ticket deadline until the end of May to allow supporters to see whether there is any progress on such an appointment and the dust to have settled on the season.

Well done to all who have organised today's protest, it has certainly touched a nerve with Sparks and then Rupp.

What happened with your strong rumour that Sparks would be on his bike, and not a plane, this week?

He should have watched Dragon's Den where multi-millionaire successful business people admit they don't know about a particular industry and refuse to invest.

I've no sympathy. He thought he could make money, he was clueless. He remains clueless, relying 100% on what others tell him, which is why we are in a fecking mess.

People’s hand in life needs to be forced, we’d still all be living under Catholic rule like the Middle Ages if people didn’t take the hard stand. Sometimes things have to get a bit worse before they can get better, real change doesn’t come cheap.

Its partly what the fans are asking for, more info from the club. The timing is a little suspect.
If we are getting someone in to help Sparks on the football side , that's a start, maybe they can not say anything yet as contracts need to be dealt with.
Lets hope he lives up to these words, its now there in print for everyone to refer back to.

As always actions speak louder than words. Fair dos on the man coming out and issuing a statement, even one clearly drafted by our CEO, but as far as actions go he is continuing to allow our inept CEO continue in a role he has zero experience and zero ability in. Whether we get a DoF or not, we'll still be hamstrung by sparks continuing in this role
