Settlement package?! The amount of money he took out of the club in salaries for himself and his wife, It's him that should be paying us back!

Met a chap who works in HR at a PL club a few weeks ago at a networking/training event. You'd be surprised what players have in their contracts and once some clauses become common for a few players they soon spread to others. Agents will push anything that gets their client (and them) a bit more money.

It may be hearsay to you but, without naming sources (and others both on here and elsewhere have written about the losses), just look at the basic evidence: attendances well down and a huge squad of players, many of whom do not want to leave despite being frozen out of the first team. And that's without referencing any of the hearsay, that you may or may not choose to believe.

No not given up at all @Bronco@Bronco , Just do not want the club to go down the short-ism route and end up doing this again at the end of the season ( Grayson ), If the calibre of manager we need has applied then give him longer and let him bring in his own team and build the club, If he staves off relegation great but we must be realistic and also think can the next manager get us promoted if he cannot save us from relegation

In terms of the money I think you're spot on and, although it's way beyond the means of most of us, it's not really that much in terms of current football finance. So why would you risk any of it? It's a bit like you or me. We would all have an amount that we would be prepared to blow if we thought it would make a difference and get us up the leagues again but we all know if we put it all together it would make no difference at all so we wouldn't do it. Only big money talks nowadays and even £20 million doesn't talk that much. That's why the few people who have that locally aren't interested. And there's no one who has more than that to invest on a wing and a prayer.

I'm pretty sure that the EFL couldn't care less @Onside@Onside .

Money is all that matters to them and leagues 1 and 2 don't earn them anything I guess. If actions speak louder than words, they wouldn't bat an eyelid.

Glenn thanks for the response and putting some detail to it. Then your exactly the sort to "get into the heads" of the regime that we the fans the one and only true constant in all this ineptitude deserve better than this !. Personally I don't give a monkeys about Rupp ! Rahic ! Rhodes ! The Manager (and the next one ??! ) The Coaching staff ! The Players ! they can all go for me ! But I do give a monkeys about the Tea Lady ! The Groundsman !, All the Administrative staff Uncle Tom Cobbly & All ! Charlie Murgatroyd! You ! and every single Bradford City Supporter being led into the Abyss by all this and if you get chance (probably not ? for your not inconsiderable benevolence) tell em that from US ! Thanks again and salute to you for stumping up your hard earned spoils for what little say or return you appear to get ?

I don't blame Rupp. Rahic was an incompetant business person who, for a time, will have BS'd his way through meetings. I'm sure some would call him a con man. Alas, it takes time for even the best business people to see through this kind of person as they can be very convincing.

Unfortunately, not only was the year-on-year progress at City put into a u-turn, but the very future of the club is now in jeopardy. Rahic should hold his head in shame.

I've a lot of time for you @StaffordBantam@StaffordBantam and understand where you and those who agree are coming from, but we've simply never had such a rapid deteriation in fortunes, i.e. 15 months and so are understandably shocked perplexed etc

As to what went wrong, the answers simple - we got everything wrong that could go wrong last summer. We now suffer those consequences. Nobody is immune from the result of making wrong decisions, i.e Man U in the mid 70's

I don't get your worry about the debt. Once Rupp says it's a problem, I'll start worrying

Rahic has gone, but his bad summer decisions could cost us three seasons of progress

However, I don't share your fears.

If we go into L2, then there is no reason why we can't do what Bury and MK Dons. At the latter players like Kieran Agard, who simply didn't turn up last season, are thriving

This shows things can be turn around and though it looks bleak, we can't talk ourselves into oblivion

I remember 12 seasons ago and that seemed worse

But nice article all the same

As I understand it Stefan is currently covering the debt, but it is a large debt and, in the short term at least, it will only increase.

No, I'm not going to elaborate on them. But as you say, you "keep reading this line on various media platforms" which, if you are prepared to trawl through Bantam Talk, includes this forum as well.

I would suggest that a significant part of the debt is not, in the strictest sense, a managed debt. It is a debt that has been inflicted on the current owner and it is a debt that is set to grow.

To date Stefan has been prepared to cover the debt. The question is, will he continue to cover the debt and, if so, what are the implications for Bradford City's playing budget going forwards?

It's ok someone covering a debt. The biggest problem is if they're charging interest on that debt or putting a time frame on them getting their money back.

As the debt is from his company to either him or another there is nothing to win by calling it in when the club can not pay it. Ifnhe winds the club up he will lose out

What happens if the certain someone covering the debt suddenly realizes that there is no way on this earth he is going to get his money back. Not forgetting he has no interest in football whatsover never mind Bradford City. His only option would be to cut his losses but then who would buy us ?? I do believe there is interest in the club but ask yourself this how much less is the club worth as a L2 outfit or how much would it be worth buying of a receiver. People are waiting to see what his next move will be !!! He has nothing to sell to get his money back he is financing a money pit that is Bradford City AFC for now !!!!

Totally agree Faithful. At the moment there is far too much uncertainty about literally everything to do with the club - is it any wonder people are not queuing around the block to renew their season tickets when they have no idea what they are buying into?
