None of us are asking him to throw millions at it my god we did that in 2000.and look how that turned ............all we asking is for some direction a vision of where we are going .........A CEO who simply has a clue about football .........a recruitment team who can actually recruit decent players ...... ....the likes of Barrow seem to get it right so why the hell cant we ?????

Sorry but this bumbling along cannot keep going along i mean another 2 years of this and you may be well below the 10k season ticket mark and having to really shift through the cess pool of players that nobody want

They reached league one by winning this division. They've gone from nothing in the space of 7-8 years, in the same period that we've floundered around.

Yes, they may well go out the league this year, but sustaining L1 with the size of their fanbase would be tough. If we ignore the Dale Vince/vegan angle which upsets some people and just look at the drive that has given them a shot. We need someone like that at City because we could sustain L1.

 

Do we actually have a view of what’s been achieved on the commercial side? That’s not a dig, it’s a genuine question. There have been several positive promotions by the club on links with local sponsors, but they look pretty small fry to me. A quick look at our revenue numbers, looks to me like we’ve recovered our revenue streams to something like normal after the year of COVID. Once you allow for inflation, there doesn’t look like anything material to me, in terms of commercial performance.

The only answer is for Sparks to resign. That simple.

If @Dennis is correct saying he won’t then we as fans have to force him too.

If Sparks resign then Rupp has a) take more of an interest in the club even for a short time or b) get his own team in or C) sell up.

While Sparks is here this club will continue to fail as he shouldn’t be in the job! Get him OUT!

 

Certainly, unless he is prepared to sell cheaply he just needs to sit on his hands. Remember he has no ties with the City of Bradford whatsover, so reputational or financial damage to someone with £m’s in the bank and businesses won’t give a monkeys. Therein lies the problem FB.?
We , no I will correct myself, the CLUB’s future hangs in the balance if he decides to pull out and write off his ( small to him ) investment. He won’t really care if push comes to shove.
Imagine if you and I had invested in a small time football club in Germany……Would we invest about the same again to get it out of trouble OR let it wither on the vine? Feet up in Norfolk , I don’t think I would for a small time German club? Think about it?

 

Given the amount of activity to press - that will only feature a couple of minutes on transfers, loans etc.

 

I believe I know of one previously interested party, but it’s by the by. Sparks has admitted that over the last 3 years alone, there have been 3 approaches. One was obviously WAGMI. So interest is out there, that’s not the issue. The issue, quite clearly, is the asking price.

Rupp has a decision to make. There’s a principle in business called the ‘sunk investment fallacy’. That’s what he has to contend with. If he remains passive, the most likely outcome is the further decline of the club, and an even further regression for his ‘investment’. Probably to the point of complete write off.

I don’t expect him to make a decision based on emotion, because as you say, he has no connection to the club on that score. But he needs to be made fully aware that under the current ‘plan’ and regime, his investment is failing. So he needs to cut his losses on the basis of not further losing out financially, or double down and invest what it takes to set the club up for success. If he does nothing, he deserves to lost the lot.

If in theory he did 'pull out' where would we realistically be? He loses his millions because no one is gonna give him it but we aren't like a lot of clubs in that we are actually self sustaining as it currently stands off the backing of the fans and local business. I agree with your earlier comments, he has the luxury at the moment of not having to put money in, but that is solely based on this wonderful fan base backing the cheap ticket mantra. Without us his investment is worthless and I'm at that point where I don't really want to put anymore money his way when he clearly has no care yo push the club forward. I have better things to do with my limited time on this planet now I'm older, I'd rather spend it with a feeling of enjoyment. Do you know what, all I'm asking him to do is show an interest, if not do the honourable thing and move the club on to someone who will.

Many things we lack in like plans, director of football, an Interested owner etc etc...But the mess we're in shouldn't be the case for us in L2, yes we've unprofessional setups all across our club and an uninterested owner not willing to invest anything in us, but our budget which is based on our income should be enough for a good manager to spend wisely and produce a competitive squad at L2 level despite all the clubs flaws.

 

Exactly. I’ll believe it when I see it. But in any event, its not the interested parties that are the concern, its the deluded seller.
