It’s a meaningless pledge, we don’t have poverty due to low wages we have it due to high living costs. If you got £6 an hour in the 60’s you’d be rich due to the cost of living. If you got that now you can’t afford to live. All it would do is drive up prices of everything, a shop will straight away up the costs of their products, including food, if they had to pay their lowest workers £15 an hour then many wouldn’t be any better off. It’s a policy to try get a few cheap votes without actually acknowledging the consequences.

I quite enjoyed Kier's speech at the conference even if it was a bit long. The hecklers from the Corbyn supporters probably helped him overall.

The usual suspects on twitter are already doing their utmost to destroy the parties chances of winning a raffle, never mind a general election. I honestly cannot see them getting back into power in my life time. More infighting than there is in the taliban.

To add, this country will not accept a government based on loony left policies. Blair understood this, Starmer understands this, it seems the loony left side of Labour don't. They really are that stupid. The minority led by the likes Jones and Bastani think their student union type of politics will somehow get to power when all it will do is to continually hand power back to the not fit for purpose Tories.

Well I sat spellbound listening to his 90 minute rhetoric, my cheque is in the post.
Do these party conferences have warm up comedians before the main act, talk about happy clappers.

Watched the speech and well intentioned if a bit lackluster but he is as he is,
Would just add this in his favour, He seems an honest and serious politician with honest values, The question the electorate need to answer is do they want a prime minister who is serious and honest or a Buffoon who sees nothing wrong in bluster and lying when it suits him

I think the 80 seat majority johnson won answers that, people know he's a shitbag but simply don't care because he tells them what they want to hear whether it's true or not

Another day and yet another reason why Labour will not win an election. They are poisoned by self centred attention seekers like Jones and his ilk to a point where unless they get exactly what they want the party itself can go to hell. His replies to comments on the thread are quite sad really, literally doing the work for the Tories, although he seems completely oblivious to it.

Instead of a media campaign he has suffered from a massive internal smear campaign instead

When Labour decides to shrug off the woke madness, identity politics and stops seeking to be popular with what they think is the majority, and take the time to understand and represent what matters most to the working classes of this country, they might actually become more popular.

When they do they will win any election against the bumbling fecking oaf that is Johnson. Fraud on a massive scale with the PPE scandal, just one example Michele Mone and her ties to the Torys got her 'mates' £200 million pounds worth of contracts. Infact I'm listening to the absolute fool in PMQs now. The bloke just sees politics and life as one big pantomime performance. And then I see what he's done with HS2 and 3 and the deliberate lack of investment in the North of England. This country is an absolute and shambles and there isn't anything you or I can do about it.

Lets be honest if Keir Starmer is pissing off Owen Jones, he is clearly doing something right.

Don't be fooled Starmer is just like the rest of them. On the Radio this morning was asked a straight question 3 times and never answered it just blaming the French and Pritti Patel and the Asylum System.

The question was: Should the boats containing migrants in the English channel be turned back? Yes or no?

Spineless Twit- his party won't be getting my vote any time soon. He should be making political hay right now instead he just dawdles around trying to look important.

We have quite a few uninhabited Sottish Islands we could build holding camps on, We should put those attempting to come in to the country illegally there, ( Including Sturgeon :) )

Starmer currently landing blow after blow on Johnson at PMQs. And yet still this disgrace of a prime minister refuses to resign. The man shouldn't just resign, he should be arrested and charged with offences like he had his police forces do throughout this coivid pandemic.
