gonna be parkyball mk2 from the shrews game, which tbf i think suits the club better. he also has the air of a man that can't stand bullshit so hopefully he'll put edin in his place, lets not forget this is a man who's worked for the oystons and ken bates in the past so will be experienced in dealing with nutcase chairmen.

Really strange appointment is Grayson and I’ll explain.
I coach junior football in the local area and 12 months ago I recommended a lad that played for me to City. During the lads trial I spoke regularly with the scout and coaching team and they were so enthusiastic about the owners and how Rahic was a regular at the evening session s. They spoke about how the owners wanted to build a dna for city, so that all levels of the club played the same style/way.
So with 18 months of McCall possession based football(and this was taught to the kids) to Grayson playing the % game and looking to pick up second balls, how will we ever bring any more youth through with the youth trained to play possession ball.
Grayson was a panic appointment that has not worked

I agree 100%. Edin knew he had not supported McCall when it mattered. The wrath that came his way forced his hand to appoint someone with pedigree.

At a guess I think Rupp has warned the Twit head of football to take a step back and allow Simon to get on with things.

I dont think the man can help himself. And for Simon to be here next year he needs to reel himself in.

Edin wanted attacking football with no draws and entertainment. Winning 4-3 rather than 1-0. Not a Grayson trait. So I agree a panic appointment.

However if putting up with drab football that earn results aka parky andin doing so keep the accountant away from on field activities then its a win win situ.

so did I in terms of effort and good old fashioned blood n thunder tackling. v short on quality though but as ive said in other threads i think this is down to low confidence than a lack of ability. shrews didnt look any better than us just more confident to try little flicks and fancy passes that we were doing early season

If this club appoints Grayson full time for next season then it's foolish.

I don’t know how you can say that. We just have to have experience at this level, and we do not have the luxury of gambling on younger manager with less experience. Let’s see how we do in the last 6 games.

    Results at Bradford City.

    Dire football he plays

Don't know how anyone who watches Bradford City feels he should stay. He's been utterly disappointing and a total failure so far. Results back up my post and football is all about results.

I get the idea of the dna. It has worked well at Barcelona over the years...

Problem for me, is that it requires a huge investment all through the club to make that work. Coaches bought into it, right from grass roots level through to the first team, as well as a significant amount of time for it to feed through. I don't think we are a big enough club to do this. We can't afford to employ enough full-time coaches, of the right quality, and we are also in competition with numerous other clubs for young players.

You are obviously close to youth football, and you have seen how the big clubs work. One of the kids I teach looks to have lots of potential (at the age of 8). He had Man City, Man United and Liverpool all wanting him, trips to the ground and meeting Zlatan Ibrahimovic etc. We can't compete with that. Man City can afford to spend millions on youth football, as they will likely recoup that money through sheer economies of scale.

I think the idea of bringing in players who haven't made the grade at higher league clubs is very sensible. In theory, they will have had access to better coaching than we can ever provide. But, this needs to be balanced with making sure we have enough experienced players who can play football competitively.

The appointment of Grayson, to me, shows that the owners are being pragmatic and responding to events on the pitch, as well a perhaps a realisation of the scale of the investment required off the field to make the club viable above league one.

He’s had 8 matches, not been able to sign a player, the players without confidence and the owners invisible.
    Give him a chance!
