we need a new keeper

 

Don’t think either of the centre backs were great. They always look fragile to me. We look soft as a side - physically and mentally. Too easy to get at, we concede too many soft goals. We’re naive as a side - we allow too many balls into the box and don’t deal well enough with the ones that do. We concede too many cheap free kicks in and around the box - two of their goals came from needless challenges. We lack game management and leadership.

There’s some ability in the side - but 2-3 additions are crucial.

 

No way was he getting to that.

 

For me McGowan is better than both O Connor's and NKP but for whatever reason wasn't involved tonight.

 

Parker suggesting he may be off?

 

But he might only be amenable to what we're offering if he gets what he is after from Rotherham

 

I think he’s the weakest of the lot tbh, but it’s all about opinions. There ain’t much in it and none of them are particularly good. NKP can be ok if he’s got a dominant CB next to him.

McGowan out would make sense.

 

I know Mike unless we have someone lined up who is better than all our centre backs I hope it's all bollocks.

As I say, I’d have to see it again. Well hit, but close to him was my first take. If it beats the keeper over the wall side then fair enough.

 

True however i said a couple of weeks back we had offered a 18 month deal with option of a further 12 months whether that still stands I don't know.

 

I think we did well to keep the ball out the box today.
Our biggest problem was full back to me (Not today in general) and as long as Callum woods isn’t out for the season I think that is the biggest problem sorted. As i said earlier Ball, Payne and O’Brien need to stop jumping into tackles when they are on there own. I do think that is a massive problem and it puts a lot more pressure than needed on out CB’s.
I think our CB’s played ok today definitely played better than Shrewsbury’s.

Agree, nothing he could do about that one and can't blame him for not saving the penalty but felt he was poor for the first goal.

You sometimes get that. Hopkins has drilled it into them press hard and Harry. They are taking it too far and just diving in and committing themselves. He just needs to have a word with them to use their heads

 

Not celebrated a goal as much as Ball's tonight for a long time

From complete despair to sheer ecstasy in that period of injury time.

Lets hope we can get in a couple of decent additions this week now for the run in

 

3 points gained for us tonight against 2 points lost for Oxford and Bristol Rovers. That's also two games on the trot where we have come from behind to earn a point and turned a draw into a last minute win. Seeing how much it meant to the players at the end tonight also gives me hope that they are up for this fight.
