Who needs to meet edin when you’ve met me

 

Where did we promise to develop other clubs youth.......I thought Edin commented we should be bringing our youth through at the expense of other teams loans ?.

 

We are doing that, but surely that attracts clubs wanting to send good youngsters on loan as well

 

They'll struggle next season for sure.

 

Yes I think its great we have brought in the likes of Burke, Cullen, Guy but unfortunately Edin doesn't that's the point.

 

He wants to develop our own but I am sure he knows we need a few loans on the way

 

It isn't me making the statement "we want to develop our own players rather than loans from other club" Edin said it, yes we got Cullen on a season long loan but Edin & Stefan had just purchased the club and we required bodies in, any one who knows anything about football would have said to turn West Hams offer down would have been foolish to say the least.
Guy was a panic transfer in January as it turns out possibly the best player brought in during that period, I think loans are a great way of giving balance to your squad especially when you haven't the biggest players budget in the league.
But for every loan we play it is potentially at the expense of one of our development squad which isn't what Edin wants.

I've never mentioned "not we won't use them".

We are developing our own players and giving youth a chance but where we can pick up a good loan who is young and ready for first team action and clubs trust us to look after them why not. It in no way defers from the overall plan. Next

 

Your missing the point park. If we sign Seedorf, who is a LW, where does that leave Robinson, who is also a LW? Wolves wouldn't let seedorf out without assurances he would get regular game time, therefore limiting Robinson's game time.

Thus we are choosing the development of someone else's player over our own - which goes against the model.

 

I am talking about loan signings in genral

well you are a bit of a head banger aren’t you. The point is a general one and it still stands we can bring in good youngsters on loan alongside our own if it benefits the team

 

You were just moaning that our development squad players shouldnt be in the first team and we are goosed if we have to call of them.

The squad needs competition.

 

How many times has Robinson played 1st team football? I would class him as a regular now not a development squad player.

 

He needs competition to develop as well. End of the day I would rather get promoted.

 

I agree its better to bring on our own players but I'm not totally against the odd loan where the quality of the player would be unobtainable to pay in order to buy.

What I don't like is the Huddersfields and Fulhams who bring in a load of loans, get promoted then effectively have to buy last seasons team plus others to make the squad competitive!

 

I would agree with that but I am sure everyone wants both.

We need wingers. So the options are take someone in on loan or pay a fee/ add to wage bill and bring someone in to compete with Robinson. The loan market seems the more sensible solution to me. He would only be here until January if Robinson is keeping him out.
