We've just paid an increase, Andy, and I'm yet to see any of these better players you mention.

Which are the ones you're referring to?

I wonder what next seasons uptake will be if we have a positive/solid end to the season? I'm going to stick my neck out and predict us smashing this seasons figure. I know we've had so many false dawns etc tried all different approaches recently unsuccessfully but I don't recall us trying the huge name/respected in football approach before, weather it works or not is another matter, but I think people are going to get on board with this and get behind it.

If we end the season in a really positive manner, people are going to have a lot of faith in Mark Hughes.

I can see them getting behind Hughes in a pretty big way if we do well from hereon in.

Let's hope he makes structural changes at the club, and we're run by a real footballing powerhouse for quite some time, as opposed to going to back to worrying about the ineptitude of Stefan Rupp and the over-faced Ryan Sparks.

I think as a strategy the club should wait until we are numerically safe before launching our ST campaign. What you don’t want is hesitant fans at the start. I think we need another 6 points before we are comfortably mid table.

I always think that keeping the price to just under a £10 per match is a good policy. So content to pay up to £229 a season.

I know its history but our owners missed a massive chance after the Wembley game against Millwall, if they had reassured us the extra revenue would go to McCall for team strengthening I don't believe anyone would not have renewed.
Unfortunately at the time we weren't aware of what that conniving t**t Rahics ulterior motives were, and they did purchase us telling us they wanted cheap football for fans.
I'm not sure I'd want it increasing next season let's see what Stefan and Ryan have up their sleeve for Hughes in his first season.

He was joking. There are tables and chairs inside in the bar area inside in the warm!

However, they have to close the blinds so you can’t sit and watch the game live with a pint unfortunately - only via the TV screens. IMO the McCall and Hendrie suites are better than Bantams Bar, which is dated (unless refurbed in last few years)

Take out the actual football, which WILL improve next season, and why is the matchday experience shit ? It's probably better than most other clubs in any of the bottom two leagues and they all charge more than £199 for it.

The matchday experience is what you make of it.

You neglected to include the option where the owner puts his hands in his pockets and speculates to accumulate. The fans shouldn't need to pay for it. Promotion increases the value on the club. That's his return.

It's a fair question but I still agree with Andy. The budget to compete was actually there (if you believe Sparks ..... yeah I know) so with an extra little boost I suppose we just have to trust Hughes and the club to spend it better.

£10 a game for an adult isn't a price people should be complaining about to watch professional football.

I'd agree that our matchday 'experience' is probably in the top 20 or 30% in the division, given that we get to watch the game in a superb arena with some pretty decent views of the pitch.

Aside from that though, the atmosphere has been flat for the vast majority of the season, most away teams bring next to no fans which doesn't generate much of a 'big game feel' around VP and beyond on the day and in the run up to the game. Our league position, the league we're playing in, the running of the club, questionable signings, questionable personnel amongst other reasons mean we've pretty much lost our identity and there are so many empty seats which just give a dour feel about the place on a matchday.

Compare this to when we were pushing at the top end of League One, or on our cup run(s), the whole City, VP were buzzing, pubs were full and buzzing.

At the moment everything about the club is just flat and it cannot be argued, surely, that the current matchday experience is pretty damn shit.

Depends who signs them Dave. Under Adams, Trueman, Bowyer, Stuart, Collins then absolutely not, collectively they couldn't have picked Messi out of an under 13 line up.. Under Sparky, who knows. He's a draw just to play under him. It will be interesting to see in the summer for sure.

I'd say the way it's going 6 more points would make us safe, who'd have thought that last May, I'm hoping for a strong finish to the season to give us that winning mentality and of course to get those undecided fans back on board, early days yet but even the games we lost under Hughes & Hodges we've improved game on game, I wouldn't be suprised with a decent finish to the season and some positive movement from the club we could easily beat this seasons ticket sales which remembering what we have been through in the last 2 years and a 30% increase was a great response.

And be able to pick up your pint with only 4 fingers and a thumb, where as the locals have 5 fingers and a thumb.
