The point I am making is whatever way you look at it keen or not apathetic or not £150 is a Blxxdy bargain and if you want to watch league football anywhere else or for that matter find any other entertainment where you can afford to bring the family you will be very lucky. The trouble is we have been spoiled it is now taken as the norm when the cost at most other clubs is double

I want to agree with you wholeheartedly Jon but the "move beyond the Rupp era post-haste, in my opinion" fills me with doubt and in trepidation......

That said, it really is the logical move. Let's hope their are suitors waiting in the wings, legitimate suitors with clear and "honest" intentions!!!

Rupp will seriously struggle to shake off the legacy of Rahic.

Your missing the point or you choose to ignore. For those not renewing it ain't about the money, it's what's happening at Valley Parade both off and on the pitch.

You clearly love the club. You clearly want the club to succeed and bounce back. But your thinking does not resonate with all.

There is apathy. And it's understandable.

£150pp is a lot of money to pay to be bored/pissed off every Saturday afternoon. Even at that price the results will determine whether it's a bargain purchase.

Where oh where is this person(s) to take us to a ‘Post Rupp Nirvana’?

Just a small point, we were beaten today by a team, where the fans actually hate the owner (Duchatelet), yet they have a chance of promotion to the Championship!

A lot of people found Lawn’s style of ownership somewhat ‘difficult’.

Richmond was a great showman who frankly totally overspent and put the club into administration.

Gibb was a flamingo who also saw the club into administration.

Tordoff apparently failed to invest to maintain the momentum of the mid 80’s!

So who is this exceptionally wealthy individual, with business nouse and football awareness who is a secret City fan (born in Bradford) to take the club forward?

Simple question really. I get what you don’t like, but struggle to see a realistic alternative. A person rather than an aspiration!!

I have never, ever advocated a 'super wealthy' owner of Bradford City. I don't really care what level of wealth they have, if their lack of wealth means we never establish ourselves above League One level, I'm not overly interested in that.

What I do want is an owner who is AT LEAST interested in football.

So while your post is cool and all, it doesn't change the fact Rupp couldn't care less and has no interest in funding an English football team long-term - so the sooner we're out of his hair, the better.

I would like Rupp to fall in love with our club. He came into the club proclaiming he was here for the long haul, but the business plan was rubbish at our level and is now in the bin. He has been well and truly shafted by Rahic which has left him poorer. He might not be interested in football in general, but he appears to be an honourable man and wants to out things right, so until somebody comes along that wants to buy the club we have no choice.

There are clubs who’s owners aren’t interested in the football. Liverpool, Man Utd, Blackburn etc.

Get the right staff at the club for the day to day dealings, Rupp can support financially from afar. Had it not been for the lunatic Rahic, we’d probably be operating this was and nobody would have been criticising Rupp.

Not many people had a bad word to say about him, or the fact about him being absent in the first season.

I worry about Rupp’s judgement if he is so happy to watch this football club be torn apart so quickly, by a partner he was happy to be in this together with (if we assume he is blameless). A football club is part of the community, it has a history and yet two people that literally had nothing to do with it previously, have come in and in my view damaged it fundamentally in my view. We are in a very perilous position, not just this season obviously, but next. Hope he proves me wrong, but I worry about a guy that has sat back in some ways while this has unfolded. He has a lot of work to do, I don’t really see how it can just be left JR to sort out. Surely some responsibility has to be taken, show the fans you mean business to put it right.

I'm afraid superwealthy is a requisite. The typical League 2 club loses about £200k per year. (Roughly the middle of a huge range of variation.) We don't own our own ground so we would probably lose around £500k per annum if we lingered for years in League 2, though again that would vary greatly from year to year. That means our future owners will have to be superwealthy and happy to lose money just to keep us in League 2. To be prepared to lose £500k per year for a few years, you'd probably have to be worth at least £20m. That's superwealthy in my book.

We have to thank the likes of John Dewhirst and a fellow poster on here for taking their time out, going to Munich to explain just what damage Rahic was doing at our club, and to be fair to Stefan for listening.
I questioned how Rahic could keep the silent partner onside (a pretty apt description) and was told Rahic was just telling Stefan what he wanted to hear, I'm still baffled how Rahic misinterpreted the funds that it didn't sound alarm bells.

The last sentence nails it. The goalposts are slowly shifting.....doing well in Div 4 is good? Not for me...again.

It's bleedin scandalous, we just keep on sucking it up, no wonder we get what we deserve.....in general

Bugger all should have gone for this "money in the bag" April malarkey. What is the club going to do for the fans in return, apart from exist & "go again" in Div4?

Yep, it's not the money, the post code ST buying pattern suggests £150 is pretty much FA to most buyers.

The go what may brigade will sit on there £6.50 thrones wondering why we are still underachieving but be will at least be comforted that the plastics & floaters are not around. And so it goes.....

To some people, maybe quite a lot, £150 is nothing, so they can afford to renew and then choose whether to go or not depending how things go. To others it represents a major investment that they will struggle to afford and therefore they will think long and hard before they commit to it; or perhaps decide to have a season off. Everyone's circumstances are unique and I fail to see how anyone can pass judgement on anyone else's decision.

But...but.....but....doing moderately well in None League Football in the 5th tier is good enough for you! Harrogate Town on a plastic pitch! Seems to me as though there is an inherent contradiction here!

It's £150....come on.. Its an amount afforded by many over the few seasons ..

However, with much credit and agreement, your last sentence. Bang on.

The two scenarios apply within my own family.
