Season ticket holders, should be offered first refusal on the extra match day tickets, if that is the way the club goes.
I for one would purchase. I love the affordable football deal but i like many can afford to pay a bit more .
If we are offered match day tickets at say £12 , as a thank you for renewing in these times . 11 games would make your season ticket approx £290. still a decent price.

I don't think you'll be on your own!

Now that the club knows how many STs have been sold, I'd hope they'll put something additional out in the next few days on how they'll be dealing with the issue. Get your wallet open! ;)

I would have thought the scenario had already been discussed as there was no way they would sell 14,000. We don't even know where we are sat yet, i'm hoping its not the bottom corner of the kop or the bottom tier of the Bradford end.

    Q. If I have a season ticket, am I able to purchase a match ticket I am not eligible to attend? For example, can a ‘Claret’ season-ticket holder buy a match ticket for an ‘Amber’ game?

    A. Yes. Any supporter, whether season-ticket holder or not, has the right to purchase a match ticket, subject to availability. https://www.bradfordcityfc.co.uk/city-for-all/frequently-asked-questions/

No mention of an automatic entitlement.

If the capacity were to be expanded so it was over 9,039, then I assume that the Season Ticket Would be valid for all home league matches. Why don’t your e-mail the club?

The fall in numbers in comparison to last season isn’t as high as some would like to believe. Almost 2,500 of last seasons total (13,800) were flexi-card purchases, meaning the difference between this year and last years ST total is closer to 2,200.

The loss of Flexi-card purchase revenue will likely be covered by a reduced policing bill. POTD availability looks to be circa 2,500 per game. Presumably, match day ticket prices for next season will be higher than the flat £10 price of last season IF purchased with a flexi card. So in theory, on the basis that we do well and we’re able to sell the remaining 2,500 matchday tickets, we would arguably generate more revenue this season than last season - in that particular area.

Of course the shortfall of 2,200 “missing” season tickets holders leaves a dent in our finances, but I don’t feel we’ve lost significant revenue overall.

I could be completely wrong, however. :joy:

It has and that situation was included on the FAQs. I've just seen @Bigrod@Bigrod has posted the relevant bit.

My only crumb of comfort for you is that now the club knows the entire picture with 9,000 sales rsther than the 14,000 they were planning for, the club may change what it's said previously and make it more ST fan friendly. But I wouldn't hold my breath!

Perhaps you could contact the club SB and offer the seat(s) back for general sale until such a point that you're happy to attend again?

How many of those 2.500 flexis (which were of course included in Sparks' references to 14,000 STs) have become part of the 9,000 ST sales?

I know the season tickets were based on a split but i've purchased also in the hope that if capacity is increased then i don't have to watch home games on ifollow which doesn't really interest me and that all remaining home games are made available. All hypothetical in any case. But the remaining tickets available isn't.

There are also the flexis (like one of mine) that were given free to the 25 yearers not wanting a suite upgrade. Clearly none of those could be renewed this term.

There aren't over 2,000 empty seats available. There are no seats available as there is currently no guidance or rules regarding attending games. If the bar is set at 20% of capacity then the 9k tickets can be split two ways. If the bar was set at 40% of capacity then all 9k should be catered for. Until we know where the bar is being set we really don't know what will happen. The Claret and Amber split was based on an estimate of 30% capacity with a 100% take up of renewals. That hasn't happened. It would also be wrong in my opinion to allow a free for all of sales for games whilst paid up season ticket holders are sat at home. Everyone had a chance to renew and if they didn't for whatever reason that is their choice.

A bit more work for the club, but season tickets could be split into 3 groups of roughly 3,000, with two groups getting each match, say:
    Claret, Amber, Black
    Match 1 Claret & Amber
    Match 2 Claret & Black
    Match 3 Amber & Black
    etc.

Another option would be Season Ticket holders having a Flexi Card function, whereby you could get a match day ticket for a reduced fee. I guess it would all have to be sold ‘online’ and include postage, so there would be significant costs (just think the £4 you have to pay to get your season ticket posted out).

P.s. I don’t think I would be rushing out to get tickets for Crawley, Newport, Cambridge, Leyton Orient etc on a cold/wet Tuesday evening between mid November and early March.;)

Ryan Sparks did address this actually as it was original my intention to buy a season ticket and gift it back to them and just watch on ifollow.
