Ah bigger priorities this weekend... Walking my little girl down the aisle...

 

All matches are relevant and important. I have paid for a ticket and want entertaining.
Don't want to sit there looking at players who can not be arsed.
We have paid their wages, they owe us a performance and all in position's of authority at the club should be letting them know big time.
Fed up to the back teeth of footballers and their pathetic attitudes.

 

I can see why Peterborough let Cooke go. He’s neat and tidy to a point but the lack of goals and not being able to dominate even the weakest midfields in this division, tells me he’s probably reached his level. He’s had a few years here now in some of the poorest squads we’ve seen, yet hasn’t been able to hold down a regular spot. That for me says it’s time we parted company.

That game perfectly encapsulated our season. About 20 mins of genuinely quality attacking play, several missed opportunities, an awful goal conceded through schoolboy type defending when the opposition had to do next to nothing, long spells of looking lacklustre and ponderous, and ultimately shading a win against a relegated side full of academy kids to secure a first home win in 3 months. That’s exactly where we are, in every sense.

 

Never has a win felt more like a loss. That second half was embarrassing. Even when a win is virtually handed to us on a plate we still manage to make it look far more difficult than it is.

 

The passing backwards when there’s an opportunity to drive forward is the frustrating bit for me. I like that we try to keep possession but that was a throwback to Adams in parts. Roll on next season when hopefully we are entertained by players who are confident on the ball and not looking for the easy, pass back or sideways option.

 

I thought it was like a breath of fresh air not having lumbersome Cook up front. A lot more mobility and movement from the likes of Angol etc. Great to watch.

 

Not for players who are serious about earning a deal or wanting to play a part here next season. And this is exactly the sort of game that we should have 2 or 3 lads from the U19 Title winning team on the bench for. Give them 10 mins at the end.

 

My MOTM today was split between Vernam and the ref. Thought he handled the game really well better than that attention seeking Twit we had v Tranmere.

Yes he was decent, let the game flow….A sign of a good ref, you hardly knew he was there!

Oh and another, the Scunny lads didn’t give it Amateur Dramatics requiring brain lobotomies every five minutes. Hats off to them too.

 

I agree, the fact he has spent a lot of time on the bench since Hughes arrived suggests either he isn't interested in him for next season or Cooke has made it clear he has no intention of signing if a deal is offered. No great loss for me, 2 pre seasons of him talking about scoring double figures, two Season's of him actually scoring 3 and 2 goals respectively.

 

Hope it's a fantastic experience for you Dave. I have this pleasure to come in mid June, having had it postponed twice by Covid regulations. I'm sure my heart will melt when I first see her in her wedding dress.

To be fair we were playing the worst side in professional football so can't really judge him on today's performance.

 

Hughes desperately wants/needs a home win and his team this weekend will be the one he best thinks can achieve this - nothing else
