Not that subtle - about 20 gaps by my reckoning!!!

 

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the players haven't been coached very well. Ability wise we're better than most and yet it doesn't show in our play which is both clumsy and one dimensional.

 

Disagree Jon. We had no idea what to do with the ball, the movement wasnt good enough and there was very little quality in the final third.

 

According to the manager we should have had a penalty for a foul on Donaldson. Anyone got a clip?

 

Yeah but for bipolar Fordy, even a simple draw can mean instant relegation!

 

Was that for him just standing there, mate?

 

I'm not disagreeing with those things, but the basics are right. They're in place. We've just absolutely dominated a game from start to finish.

What's lacking is the ability to consistently out-score the opposition - but that will hopefully come with confidence.

There's nothing there that's really worrying me so far this season. There aren't any teams that look to be comprehensively better than us, none whatsoever, so we have every chance this season. You don't have that if the basics are wrong, like last season.

 

I wouldnt know I but the second half we were camped in their half and not merely did he do his job well he organised the rest around him.
Our front two were average at best how Donaldson didnt hit the target with that header first half is beyond me, disappointed we haven't brought all 3 points home.

 

That's an insult to people who are bipolar, mate. Thought most of us on here took the issue of mental health seriously.

 

Until a coach or an assistant to Bowyer is appointed the team will not reach anything like it's full potential. The lack of quality coaching is obvious in every game. Bowyer is "managing " the team very well but he's not coach neither is Drury.

 

Depends how you define dominate. We had all of the ball sure, but we didn't create nowhere near enough clear cut chances. The goal and donaldsons chance apart, it was fairly easy for scunthorpe to deal with.

 

Why is it an 'insult'?

I'm not saying you're wrong, but I'm interested to hear why that's offensive.

It's not a word that relates solely to a mental health condition.

obviously Drury doesn't do enough overloading coaching during training. If someone had come and watched this match after 20 mins, I think they'd be suprised that Scunny were a man down. We didn't make that extra player count.
Donaldson needs a rest. Summed it up when he did his usual falling over when in a good position in the last 5 mins. Unfortunately, I don't put much faith in Oteh or Patrick. When does that transfer window shut again? D'oh!

 

Super post. We are a decent team, nothing special. I called mid table and I'm sticking.

 

Hit the post right before they scored tbf, but yeah not enough for the amount of possession we had. Need more quality in the final third, which with the players we have should be our strongest part of the team.

 

I said when Bowyer made him Captain I hoped the Captains arm band would make him watch his silly antics and be an example to his team mates, I don't mind him getting a yellow if its for footballing matters but once again for gobing off to the ref when he'd been taken on one side by the ref not 10 minutes earlier and warned.

 

You think we're gonna finish bottom because a team hung on for a point against us??
