I know. I’m comparing him to the Man U £70m keeper. Same kit, same size, thinks he’s Lionel Messi.

Can't agree, based on what we have seen of Walker so far. Wrexham was his best game yet and the confidence he is giving our defence is there for all to see, and that is invaluable if we are going to try & somehow rescue this godforsaken season. He will make the No.1 shirt his own

I like what i have seen and i am pretty certain he will try and make that no 1 shirt his, but if a goalkeeping loan of the quality of Pickford raised its head, i am pretty certain he would be sat on the bench.

If Alexander could bring a loanee keeper of Jordan Pickford calibre we'd be stupid to turn it down although some of his early games he was a bit of a Calamity Jane I believe dislocating/breaking Davies shoulder getting to the ball, one he came for a ball he didn't care who got in the way.

He was haphazard then , just as he’s liable to be today. A great keeper but always a couple of howlers per game even now.

Like most goalkeepers then, or most lower league professional footballers , whatever position they play.
    We all make mistakes.
I think mine was my life long support of a certain local sports club.

The top top keepers still fess up. Pickford the same as the keepers union members . I singled him out precisely because he’s no better or worse than the rest . Still error prone.

Would you take him on a free transfer this summer though?

Agree but where we had charters like Bobby Campbell playing centre forward, Everton have their character in goal.

But when called upon does a great job like he did in the Euro's, and still England's number one.

Don’t disagree, however one mistake by a keeper can have disasterous consequences and is seen by all, yet a forward hits the bar…….. Bad luck old chap ;)

I knew when Walker came in he would be a more than adequate replacement for Lewis. Harry was hit and miss and had his mistakes this season.

Walker, admittedly not played much recently. Any other position that would ring alarm bells, but for a keeper once you lose your place it can be difficult to get back in. Keepers don't often get injured and if they're steady away they don't get dropped.

Usually if a keeper comes in to a club they will be number 2 or back up. Again hard to break in to the team.

You don't sub your keeper neither, so no opportunity for a cameo.

To me he looks assured and steady. Vocal too.

I think Walker is more a steady keeper. Will give you 6/7 out of 10 performances most game weeks an the occasional 8, as he did last weekend. Harry Lewis this season has either been really good, or really bad. Of all the positions on the pitch that you'd want an erratic player, the goalkeeper isn't one of them

We did well with the Carlisle deal, may end up being the best bit of business weve done for a while come the end of the season if things go the way they have been recently

You had more confidence in him than me then.

Your comment of "finding it difficult to get back in" is probably the understatement of the year given he'd played less that 50 games in the 6 years before joining us and in 14 years in the game had only cemented a regular first team spot once.

He looks steady at the minute though so long may it continue and perhaps he's a keeper that will blossom at the back end of his career, no doubt helped by the fact that we're in the basement division.

As you say if a keeper is doing his job commanding his box taking crosses and corners that must give the defenders around him that extra confidence, I'll take a steady keeper all day long rather than a keeper who is up and down with his form, so far nothing to criticise the lad about, long may it continue.

Ok I only played semi pro so nothing great but as a defender I much preferred playing with a keeper who dominated his box than a shot stopper. It made the defence so much better but from a fan perspective shot stopping looks more impressive
