According to Weaver, the deal only happened because one of their loan players got recalled late in the day and they had to bring someone in quick. They contacted Sutton's agent and Levi was actually with him in his car - Levi at that point had offers from 2 other league 2 clubs on the table but once he found out about Harrogate's interest, they drove straight there. Weaver seemed to think the fact that Levi lives fairly local in Wetherby is what swung it in their favour.

We have one of the best defences in the league and it shows in the options we have at centre half so I'm not overly fussed who Hughes goes for from a defensive point of view.

But I wonder if it's the other end of the field where Hughes is seeing the benefit of playing Platt & Stubbs. We don't tend to look that threatening from corners or set pieces but that has improved in the last few games where Stubbs has played. The goal at Doncaster showed how committed he is and Cook doesn't score that goal without Stubbs' involvement. Hopefully more to come with that.

He must have passed a medical so is fit at the moment and as far as I can see before the injury he has just recovered from was his first major injury so let’s hope he stays fir and we have another very good defender

To be fair, I expect big cumbersome League Two lumps of flab to be able to get their big meaty foreheads on a corner at least once a season.

I think it's a fair criticism, but not the most crucial aspect of his game by any means.

Listened to that earlier. Whilst it isn't ideal that he can't train every day, if it keeps him injury free and fit for match days then so be it.

To keep it on topic about Stubbs, the lad sees everything in front of him. He also manages the backline well and is calm with the ball at feet. He could play next to Zesh Rehman and make him look solid

I was very much in the “who” camp.

    Pleased to be proved wrong.

Was going to bite to Bantamlad a few posts above but can't be a$$ed, but then maybe I am here now, but anyhow I don't recall anyone saying Stubbs is the total ultimate defender but merely just pointing out statistics and characteristics of a good L2 player that we so needed.

yes we gave away a pen. He was trying to shield the ball so Lewis could keep the momentum going. That was the wrong decision because the attacker was on him and he couldn’t hold him. Row Z was the option. It is good to try and keep the ball alive and retain possession but sometimes giving away possession is the best option. However I think Stubbs has just grown into a very good CD whilst he has been here and I can only see him improving. Nothing he did today detracts from my opinion of him.

Yes he made a mistake for the penalty but so far he has been a fantastic signing for not only his play but his leadership qualities and organisation skil. A point in case after their late goal they were getting a bit of joy down our left side and I saw Stubbs sorting through communication

Might be looking to next season.Crichlow won't be here,so maybe this lad,who is only 24,could be seen as his replacement.

Sounds like he had a good second half of last season to get them promoted. Let's hope for same. Sounds familiar to andrew Davies

Gary Caldwell really singing the praises of Stubbs which seems a good sign. Yet Exeter see fit not to offer him a new contract based solely on the back of his injury problems. If, and it's one massive if, he stays fit we might just have a quality player. But Exeter not offering him a new deal worries me somewhat.
