When we had all our key players fit they got a tune out of the squad. Now we have some key injuries and the depth of the squad is exposed as not being the best then our form has dropped.

Novak, Cooke, Canavan would walk straight back into the team. Staunton and Pritchard would strengthen the bench.

So I completely agree about finding another 5 key players to really bolster the squad and also look very closely at our fitness department.

    Full of poor excuses.

First of all every team has injuries and in div 2 no team really has a decent squad. Crawley couldn't even full the bench.

Not sure Novak walks into the squad now but I agree on the others. Pritchard is shite!

Point is though we play a defensive 4-2-3-1, start slow. Can't get the best out of Rowe. Still playing Billy Clarke and Evans. T & S are starting to act like Collins with every passing week and if they are to stay then for me they need help.

He’s actually very good at running City, unfortunately he will be in demand and like Dave Baldwin he will be poached.

I really look forward to City appointing this manager who wins every game and entertains in every game as that is the only manager that you won’t moan about.God I pity the poor souls who have to sit near you every home game, I bet your a joy to be with.

Think it's far too early to judge if he very good at running City.

Anyone would have been better than Rhodes and that includes you.

Well I think it depends on what kind of manager you appoint.

Let's take Leeds for example. They appointed an attacking manager. Yes they will lose games but the aim is to attack and entertain.

Fans can accept losing matches as long as a team has had a go.

We play 4-2-3-1 in a defensive mindset because out managers are just trying to penny pinch results.

I've no idea which 'decent managers' are currently available. Which of these 'decent managers' you're aware of would you suggest Sparks should be looking at now for next sesson?

How would you determine whether they will be able to guarantee promotion for us next season?

Well top of my head you have Wellens, Keith Curle, Cooper, Graham Alexander all available. Failing that send compo on a manager like Lowe.

I think you determine it by the success they have had but first of all as a CLUB you need to understand what identity you want on the pitch. This is something Bradford City as a club, as a support base don't seem to understand. If you want to try to penny pinch results with boring football then yes T & S might be worth sticking with but we won't get far.

I've said we urgently need a Football Director because the club hasn't got an idea on how it wants to play. If we look at a Swansea from the past, Brentford, Leeds, Liverpool, Man City, Arsenal, Barca you know how you want to play short and long term to give you the best chance of success.

T & S know their formation but we are all over the shop and I just don't think they will take us up next season and we shouldn't be wasting our time.

It is far too early , to be talking of changing managers again. Yes performances are hit and miss , more miss the last few games, but the guys have been in charge for four and a half months , have had one transfer window and pulled us away from the relegation zone to such a point that we could have reached the playoffs , with a squad that most agree is not good enough to go up, lets see what they do over the summer and how we start next season, before we pull the trigger and appoint one of the super managers, that are available !!! And for those who might think it , i am not a happy clapper, i want sucess on the field as much as any fan. I just do not think the constant merry go round of failed managers actually works.

How would Novak walk into the team? Literally no difference between him or Cook

Keith Curle and Alexander are both currently employed as managers elsewhere so your list now comprises Mark Cooper and Richie Wellens. Both have recently been sacked for not delivering what their owners expected at their previous clubs. And you believe that our expectations will be any less than FGR's or Salford's? That's hardly a glittering list of managers who we should be looking at if T&S aren't regarded as our future managers.

Saying we should recruit a Footballing Director is just a diversion but worthy of a whole other debate. Of course if we were to appoint one, he could work within the current set-up with T&S so has little if any relevance to replacing T&S. Just to remind you, your earlier comment said that there are loads of 'decent managers' out there who might be encouraged to join City and by inference bring about instant success in our forthcoming 'massive season'. I'm still waiting to hear about serious options for our next manager with or without a Football Director. If you're trying to name any more, there is still no guarantee of success with these mythical names. And then what? Sack that manager and start all over again?

Hey @Dennis@Dennis , you left out one of our own.
After about 7 years of total failure in charge of Englands U21's Aidy Boothroyd has stepped down.
Likes his route one stuff, tailor made for City.

There’s a difference. Cook has scored more already since January and doesn’t get injured every two minutes. No chance Novak would improve our starting 11, we play 1 up top so he’d be on the bench. Callum Cooke has been a big loss though, but our midfield was left woefully short due to poor recruitment and that includes January.

    @Dennis@Dennis for manager then!

Look, for me I just don’t think we can have the gamble of T & S without a Football Director or an experienced head helping them.

You're now changing your tune somewhat. You were the one to quote that there are loads of decent managers out there to choose from and you haven't backed that up with anybody other than two who have just been sacked for failing to deliver at their previous clubs. Wow! That doesn't suggest to me that Sparky has many alternatives to the current pairing who will be guranteed to bring promotion for our club next season.

As long as it’s not you Fordy as you would be a disaster with your constant sackings even after a good away draw.

No manager can gaurantee promotion. It takes a combination of things all coming togethor at the same time, including luck, with injuries and decisions on the pitch. Peter Taylor, well respected former England manager , crap at City, ditto Bryan Robson and many other big names. Chris Kamara , Paul Jewell , , relatve minnows in football terms, both sucessfull at our club.
It really is a lottery and needs lots of things to go your way throughout the season. All the club can do is to try and recruit players that hopefully improve the playing side and even that is a lottery, as who knows , how they might settle at the club.

Completely agree bud, Callu Cooke is an excellent player but I do think teams were beginning to work us out a bit anyway before his injury. For me how our midfield plays and who makes it up need an overhaul. I like Sutton and Watt on their day, but unfortunately their day doesn't always come around so we need competition/upgrades. Alongside the ball winning midfielder we've been crying out for for the past 3-4 years now

Interestingly Brian Clough in one of his books called this specific Peter Taylor a fraud (not his assistant/mate)

Are seriously comparing us with Leeds in the Prem and who we could attract as a manager? Aren't many Bielsa's in League 2
