I hope future articles are a bit more enlightening.

Nothing learnt from that first one.

 

Maybe we’ve turned down deals for JY because they don’t contain sell on clauses? Seems RS is emphasising that he’s looking out for the players AND the club. Mentions “future premiership stars” and deals that will benefit the club for years to come.

 

Unfortunately the interview consists of tactical questions and responses. A very short term look at things within a very narrow scope.

There wasn't even a "how is the season going" question.

Disappointing interview in my view.

 

Doesn't tell us anything we don't already know if you look at things with a common sense approach. But then what questions do people want answering that they can't answer themselves if they look between the lines?
The JY situation is pretty simple, the club have put a valuation on him that either needs to be met or negotiated neat to by a prospective buyer. Forget the Alexander wanting him, any manager would say that, January is all about throwing in bids to test the water and as it stands no one rates Jake Young to match our valuation.
The Tyriek Wright signing was made because he is a player who can make a difference, he wasn't gonna be playing for Plymouth and it makes sense to bring back a player who did well for us. Not sure where Parker has this clickbait PR stunt question from, unless he's basing his questions on stuff posted by nutjobs on twitter. Not seen anyone suggest its a bad signing.
I've kinda lost the will to answer anything else he asked, its all known anyway.

Hes saving them for the grand finale BB, where Parker unmasks himself as Edin Rahic and says 'I would have gotten away with if it wasn't for that pesky relegation'

 

I couldn't be arsed buying the popcorn never mind eating it.

 

Like you say the JY thing is the only thing that matters at the moment.
Stick to your guns and get your valuation or back down and show weakness.

Everything else will be his usual self aggrandising
and corporate speak that people see right through.

 

I'd be ashamed printing that. What was the point in that interview? Just a load of nothing answers.

Thats as probing an article that’s been in it for the last 5 years.
Thats nearly Pullitzer prize stuff compared with its usual daily output

Spot on all round RT.

 

To be fair, and I only noticed this in his twitter post, he says it's the first part. But if it is the first part then what an odd place to start. Surely the first questions are - how is the season going, how is GA settling in, will we get promoted this season or are we accepting mediocrity etc

 

First two sentences spot on.
The last two sentences add to the narrative I suppose? If you are capable of seeing through it just ignore it . Every business and its leaders are there to promote the industry they work in, not sure why people need reminding endlessly day after day after day?

 

Thats it Kev, privately i expect Sparks would prefer an owner with a more hands on approach able to take some of the pressure off him in regards the direction of the club. But you don't say that, i'm no Sparks apologist but equally i suspect he also wishes Hughes hadn't tried to reinvent the wheel after having some success last season, which in turn knacked up the transfer policy for this season and part of next. He isn't gonna say that in interview with the local rag, he'll say both he and Hughes parted on amicable terms and wishes him well for the future. All about good PR, its why footballers wait till they've retired to spill the beans in podcasts and the like.

It was more Parker I was having a go at.
They are just vanilla questions that don’t require any major thought.
RS will just bat them away (as is his job obviously) and Parker is too weak to probe further.
I know he works for a local rag and needs to keep lines of communication open but I suspect we’ll learn absolutely nowt from the T & A (as per usual)

Hopefully the remaining parts of the interview will be more probing but don’t hold your breath.

 

Ask him why Hughes was given free reign to bring in so many players, what was the strategy behind it and why after dishing out 3 year deals, to then want a leaner squad after one season. How does that work in a long term plan?

 

It’s all promotional spin at the end of the day. A bit like “ Stop the Boats”…Meaningless drivel!
