If the squad is too big that’s on Sparkes for sanctioning the signings, in any other failing business the CEO walks or is kicked so why are we stuck with someone who is a serial loser, I don’t want to heart he sponsorships are up because they aren’t enough to balance the books.

He’s either stupid or arrogant or both but the buck stops with him it’s not manager changes we need it’s at the top and quickly because we are lost in the shit pool.

I mean if we were top 2 and told we had pushed the boat out fair do but we’ve literally got 12 players at least not good enough for football never mind pro

    Sparkes out

It comes back to a complete lack of strategy and leadership. It's all just left to the manager. Dinosaur thinking.

The budget is decent it’s all about the manager and recruitment and summer is the time we can get rid of the likes of Odasebe, Derbyshire and the rest.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^100%.
My biggest concern and its been discussed to death is how Rupp was taken in with regards his financial adviser/bank setting him up with Rahic, you don't generate the wealth Rupp has achieved by not being a ruthless business man and doing due diligence with regards something you are about to purchase.
They were not even aware with regards the 25 year season ticket situation until we into his tenure at the club you'd have thought during the due diligence that would have been brought up.
It didn't take him long to suss within the club there were people generating money for themselves, even accepting Rahic completely took him in with regards his knowledge of running a football club something Rupp knew nothing about I think I just might have been involved a little closer to what was going on with regards my investment.
After the first season when Stuart McCall got us to Wembley Rupp thought Rahic was the man and running a football club was easy, sat back in Munich watching his investment potential rise backing Rahic with regards it being him who brought success that season not Stuart and once again backing Rahic with regards asking Stuart to walk.
Your correct even though it might not sit well with fans he has a right to do as he pleases with his toy, and although I would prefer an owner with some sort of connection to our club it means nothing going forward.

Reading fans make a statement and the game is called off.

Bradford City just sit back and watch their club die of death slowly.

Football League should award Port Vale the 3 points for that fiasco and Reading FC should be made to refund the Vale fans full costs for today

Reading completely potless. Can not even afford to put the heating on in the club offices.
So who will pay the fine for the invasion that caused the game to be abandoned or Port vales expenses for the re arranged game. Are the supporters going to put their hands in their pockets. They could go bust before they find new owners.

The majority of our lot didn’t even want to chuck a few tennis balls on. We sit on here moaning and carrying on yet do nothing.
Reading have had loads of coverage today and all mostly positive. Even the Port Vale fans mainly support what they’ve done even though they’ve had to spend time and money today getting to Reading.
We have a 50 page thread about getting them out…. So what’s the plan?

You keep raising the matter but don't have the balls yourself to lead any anti club campaign. You just chelp away on here week in week out. You want to be a fans spokesperson? Then go ahead and put your money where your mouth is.

I dont see the point in throwing tennis balls on the pitch.

the only way this owner will get the message is if people boycott buying ST - it risks bringing the whole empire crashing down

It would need organising and ideally would be a televised game but a mass walkout would certainly send a message

Interesting point of view. With no club to follow we wouldn't have to worry about an owner not investing in the club.

We would have a club. It would quicken up his exit.

ST sales generally launch in March. If the initial uptake is poor, alarm bells will ring. It forces Rupp into action as he’ll have to fund a summer squad rebuild and cover a huge budget deficit, to ensure there is a club to sell - but the club’s sale price would be reduced in those circumstances.

if he refuses to put in another penny we’ll go broke or start the year playing kids and pawning players left on longer deals. This won’t happen as it devalues club again - Rupp gets £0 back if the club is insolvent.

basically, Rupp needs to be actively looking to arrange a sale now, to try complete in the summer if possible. There is a lot of discontent and the club don’t want to let it linger. At least now they can sell the club as having a great attendance figure and good revenue from shop/kiosks etc. minute fans stop turning up, everything crashes down. He’ll cack his pants.

There are genuine fans out there like Lawn and Rhodes that wouldn’t let the club die. Afterall we are not saddled with huge debt. We can commit to fulfilling fixtures and have no HMRC debt that could risk closure.

We just have a disinterested owner who needs removing. Commercially the club have done well. The ground lease is coming up for renewal soon. If the ground is the noose some belief (I don’t think it is…..didn’t stop Parky’s success), there’s room to shake things up there.

it doesn’t need a Saudi to get City moving back up the divisions - just need someone who is a) actually around b) gives a damn c) has a plan and can offer a strategy/direction going ahead.

Rupp is neither a) or c). Possible he’s b) given he didn’t sell to crypto crew.

we need an owner with all three. Just someone with a plan would be nice…….

just need Rupp to lower his asking price and accept he’s played a role in ruining this club and holding us back for eight years with him and his sidekick and continuing inability to appoint the right people to run the club, even if he chooses to stay absent.

What you need to understand is that they is no club. Just like with us really.

Just a name. Reading will go into admin and someone will take over. That’s the worse that will happen.

Keeping owners like what Reading have and us with Rupp is pointless. Bradford City is dead. Fans try to keep it alive but in reality it’s done unless Rupp and Sparks go then it might stand a chance.

Rupp will do one if there are no season tickets sold as he will have virtually a completely worthless asset.

The fact Carlisle got bought in Nov 2023 shows there are investors out there. They paid 1.25 mil for a L1 club.

In many respects Rupp has done right by us by propping up his investment in times of need , but his non interested self sustainability is slowly sucking the life out of the club.
