Tidy and fit for purpose Rod. I’ll put our names down for tickets in the home sections, away fans sit atop of the changing room roof although I understand you need to be ultra loyal to get one?

 

Looking at the teams in the hat tonight, we really want a home tie. There are very few draws against non league opposition beyond FC Halifax and York City that are northern based. An away tie against the winner of Yeovil or Taunton doesn't bare thinking about.

 

The most ideal scenario for the club would be an away tie to a really lowly ranked non-league team. A bit like when we got Tonbridge Angels.

This would almost certainly guarantee us TV income, a passage through to the next round (prize money) and one match away from the 3rd round.

 

However the worse case is being stuck with Exeter or some other none TV tie halfway across the country.

 

It’s unlikely we’ll be chosen for TV no matter who we play since we play Tues at Mansfield.
Unless the game is played Friday

 

If the current lowest ranked side (whoever that currently is) gets a home tie against any league side, it is likely they will make the TV. If that were Bradford or even Mansfield, I'm sure the game would be moved.

I would guess someone like Wrexham as a non league club would find their way to TV so media could rub shoulders with TV stars. Until we get to Round 3 where Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are picked regardless of who or where they play, some thought process is involved in TV games early rounds.

 

I hope the Mansfield game is postponed. It’s not a great time to play them.
