Not sure because they're in league two they cant be classed as a big team IMO they will always be a big team, for the Papa John Trophy didn't they take most of the Midland Road side, they will fill it if we gave them enough tickets, that's of course if we drew then at Valley Parade.

Plus TV money. Pretty certain City vs Wendy would wet the broadcasters appetite.

I anticipate that there is more of a chance of a TV appearance against a none league team. I look back fondly at the games against Chesham and Dartford. Even Halifax away is more interesting than Plymouth away.

Halifax or York would do me. A game with bit of local pride at stake. Rather that than somewhere I've got to get the A-Z out to see where the feck it is

The default is that the 'home' club shall host the match at their ground and, in theory, by entering the competition they are certifying that their ground is suitable to host any tie.

However, it is recognised that the police / authorities may raise objections to a non-league club hosting certain Premier League / EFL clubs and, therefore, in exceptional circumstances, the rules allow for a game to be switched. However, clubs will not be allowed to gain financially from such a switch.

The rules state, that if the FA agrees that a switch is necessary, then "the first alternative ground shall be the nearest ground considered suitable by the local enforcing authority and/or Police (taking into account all relevant circumstances) subject to the agreement of the Professional Game Board."

Furthermore "For ties switched from the ground of the Club first drawn, then the Professional Game Board shall determine the financial conditions in which the tie shall be played and this may include, any excess receipts to be paid into the Pool."

A club that moves a match also faces the prospect of a ban from participating in the competition.

Tidy and fit for purpose Rod. I’ll put our names down for tickets in the home sections, away fans sit atop of the changing room roof although I understand you need to be ultra loyal to get one?;)

The most ideal scenario for the club would be an away tie to a really lowly ranked non-league team. A bit like when we got Tonbridge Angels.

This would almost certainly guarantee us TV income, a passage through to the next round (prize money) and one match away from the 3rd round.

If the current lowest ranked side (whoever that currently is) gets a home tie against any league side, it is likely they will make the TV. If that were Bradford or even Mansfield, I'm sure the game would be moved.

I would guess someone like Wrexham as a non league club would find their way to TV so media could rub shoulders with TV stars. Until we get to Round 3 where Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are picked regardless of who or where they play, some thought process is involved in TV games early rounds.
