And will you be one of those who loses his shit when the season isn't quite going as planned?...what i'm saying is that the club needs to go back to the PP model which was building something that's going to last. I've been accused of lacking ambition, which is wrong, i just want a team a squad that has longevity Bronco....not a one hit wonder. That play off winning side we had ..had that longevity feel to it if you know what i mean. If it means, as a supporter, i have to wait another season so be it.

I very much doubt that @The_Parader@The_Parader, obviously if were struggling I won't be happy but I stopped losing my shit many many years ago.
Plus the major difference with the side that Phil Parkinson inherited was they were already into the season, so many were happy to accept that staying in league two was OK, where as Bowyer will know what present players he has to work with, and those he needs to bring onboard which I would hope would give Bowyer a big advantage over Parkinson.

I hope your right. Another question is how many of our current crop can turn their fortunes around? Although your right about the inherent nature when PP joined.....does this crop of players kinda put GB in the same situation?

I agree with How, the Walsall game defined how far we
have fallen.Any optimism was crushed with that result.

The succession of managers also proves that starting
with a mismatch team will prove too much for most.

Rahic went ahead doing what he wanted and recruited
without knowledge or experience and we are now where
we are.It feels like there is no substance to the team or
club.Teams have bad runs but this season does not feel
like that.It feels the ingredients for success are totally
    absent.

The credentials a manager needs is to identify players who
can enhance the squad but rebuilding an entire squad will
not be easy, however, from what Bowyer says,he has identified
the type we do need and what fans have been saying all season!

Div 2 will be a trial but we must give everything to get back at first
attempt to start the repair and look forward to better times.

It should put him in a better position he's had the majority training on a day to day basis, so with players he thinks can enhance what we have it should on paper give Bowyer a far better chance of getting a successful squad together IMO, but we'll know better once the season is over and the retained list is made public.

Soft, perhaps, but overwhelmingly, as I keep saying, naive.

We have to take hope from the situation at Bury. They made a real hash of their campaign when they were relegated from League One with, what looked on paper, a decent squad full of high earners. We're going down with a squad that appeared capable on paper. Let's hope we can hit the ground running in what really is a bad league.

I'm not sure we are in a different place. We were screwed back then with a cr@p squad.

    What's different?

A football clubs culture is deeply ingrained and built over a long time. Look at the very top of the game - Clubs like Manchester United and Liverpool having a winning mentality in their DNA - even where they're having a lean spell, their grounds are packed, their away allocations are always over-subscribed and their fans expect good times to return - they don't settle for mediocrity. Clubs like Man City have billions spent on them, but still can't sell out for an FA Cup semi or for a Champions League tie with Real Madrid. With the quality they have, they should be DEMANDING Champions League success in a way that Real Madrid fans do - not expecting failure. They're shitting money and have bags of talent - but still a small club mentality.

Completely different end of the scale of course, but the attitude that pervades around our club is 'being grateful it still exists' and applauding players who simply put in the effort - rather than demanding effort and a level of skill.

Sheff United regarded every season they remained in League 1 as an embarrassment. When Huddersfield went down to League 2 it was a similar embarrassment and they made sure they went straight back up - it wasn't seen as a major success, it was mildly embarrassing that they'd found themselves in that position to begin with.

As a fan base, we should demand much more. And be willing to pay more for quality. Otherwise we'll continue to get the club we deserve.

Couldn't agree more if I tried.

We have a small club mentality and an awful acceptance that because we are traditionally a lower league club we should be happy.

We sold nigh on 20,000 (albeit cheap) season tickets in the third division the other year. Barely any clubs at this level can do that even given the price. We should be far more demanding. We *should* be beating the likes of Fleetwood, Rochdale, Walsall, Burton et al. We're no longer a third/fourth division team that gets crowds of 2,000. I want a team in the Championship, I want big games with the away end full. Our apathy and acceptance of medicority as a club is infuriating. But until our collective mentality catches this up we'll never amount to anything other than a middling lower league club.

As you say Manchester City can't sell out a Wembley semi final, so even accepting they are shitting money and having one of the best squad of players in the world they can't sell out there stadium or Wembley.
Even with there cheapest seats being £299 they don't sell out at The Etihad, it's been well debated on here and C&B and possibly TCA in the past it's a difficult one you have to price your product so that people can still afford to attend but also have a decent product on show on the pitch.

Post of the year so far... take a bow!

All City fans read!, @Glenn Ackroyd@Glenn Ackroyd and @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler read.

What does Bradford City really mean to everyone because off the pitch we're very small time and we need to getting a WINNING MENTALITY back!!

We've become a nice club with no meaning!

This post should be in the City boardroom because this club is lost at the minute.

Going down is unacceptable!! Fighting relegation is unacceptable!!

We must demand pomotion now from div 2 next season!
