The retained list was released a day after the anniversary last season, so I’d imagine they’ll do the same again this year. I’m not sure if all the squad attend the anniversary service or not.

Well Vernam isnt as he is on holiday. Be interesting to see who is out of contract and still turns up.....

Youd expect all contracted players to turn up.

 

I wonder if the retained list will be announced today. It was released on this day last year but looking back, there doesn't seem to be a pattern to it, as it was the 26th May in 2020, 7th in 2019, 17th in 2018 and 24th in 2017, so we might still have a bit of a wait yet.

 

I suspect a number already on holiday but there was a good turnout of the squad and large turnout of youth players. Don’t think you can read too much into who was or wasn’t there.

The fella from the T&A who is covering for Parker replied to a fan earlier in the week and said it's likely to be released this week.

Play offs and covid seasons will have skewed some of them but common theme with most clubs is the week after the season is finished. The retained list has to be submitted to the EFL by next Saturday so if we don't hear it this week then we should next week. Could be that the club are hoping that 1 or 2 others who we've offered deal to will accept then the players under negotiation list will be smaller. Either way I think we could assume the situation of most of the out of contract players with some certainty. For me the only ones that could go either way are Sutton, Hendrie, Foulds. The rest I think are certain to be offered a deal or to be released.
