Wood won’t have been offered a contract because he will already have found a new club IMO.
Different story with AOC though who publicly said he wanted to stay.

Not that surprised by any on the list. Needed a big clear out. Think AOC would ask for far too much than we are willing to offer. Happy with Wood going, think he knew his time was up. Had a really poor season, especially after the ones he had before. Wood will be 25 when next season starts, no longer can band about that youth card, should be a ready pro at 25 and he's looked far too shaky the last 12 months.

Feel a bit for AOC, but also the question would be where is he going to play, presuming you have a back four
Paudie / Canavan have to be the pairing, because it simply makes the most sense in that pace / toughness combination that is most likely to work
He isn't naturally a RB or CDM for us to put our hat on
I also think that (like Woods) maybe, even if it's only at a subconscious level, his three seasons which coincide with one of our worst spells - means that it's very hard for him to become a dynamic force for a promotion push
But I do think he'll be a miss. He's a very technically correct defender and I'll always marvel at his performance against Exeter last season, who quite honestly could have scored five, before we broke away and scored, if it hadn't been for him.
I'm fine with Evans staying. An experienced player like him who only last season was getting Portsmouth into the play-offs, just two points away from promoted Rotherham and making 27 appearances, has something we can use - with the correct manager and a good pre-season behind him. Even if it's only as a squad player -
Assuming the 4 offered deals sign new ones...
GK - O'Donnell, Hornby
RB - Cousin-Dawson
LB - Foulds
CB - O'Connor, Canavan, Staunton, Sikora
CM - Watt, Cooke, Sutton, Scales
WG - Vernan, Crankshaw, Evans

I would expect 7/8 signings added to that. Id like to see Staunton given a go, is he any kop at left back? -
If he was then i would say £1.5k is about right. Maybe £2k at a push. -
I'm surprised by a few of them. While I know you lot have spent the last couple of years moaning about him and even at the start of the season you did a bit but for the best part, he has been pretty good IMHO. And I thought Donaldson showed that if you use him right he can be a decent squad option. Ofc they were both on pretty decent wages, certainly in the current climate more like League 1 wages than League 2 so maybe they both turned new deals down.
And Connor Shanks would have thought as a youngster he would be been pretty cheap and I'm not sure he is at the age where you should be cutting your losses on a youth player yet, certainly not at League 2 level where just 1 of these youngsters coming good could secure the club's finances for the next couple of years.
And god knows why you are offering Foulds a new deal. I said at the time he wasn't good enough quality. He wasn't getting a massive amount of games in the Italian 3rd tier which is of much lower quality than Englands 4th tier. Now I will give you that Como are one of the better teams and did gain promotion to Serie B but I mean lets be honest a league made up of 60 teams split by region is never going to be the strongest league (and just look at the league, they won their league on 75 points, 7 ahead of 2nd, 4th place was 12 points back. Perugia who won group b beat them in the first championship playoff game. Perugia won their group with 79 points but only on Goal Difference, 3rd place was only 4 points behind and 4th 10 points so Group B looks the stronger group). Even as a cheap backup is he really someone you would want to rely on if 1st choice gets a longish injury?Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -

Then you are very naive (Which I dont have you down for) that Adams would have zero input. At the very least it would have been put to him (in their contract negotiations), is there anyone out of contract at the end of this season that you desperatly want .
The answer there lies -

Evans might stay depending on the manager. Kenny Jackett loved him and his 60 day clause from his Pompey sacking expires tomorrow, with all the vacancies in L1&2 he wont be out of work for long so hopefully we can offer him out unless Jackett comes here. If it's Keith Hill, i'm pretty sure he wanted him when he was at Bolton? Might be wrong.
Don't mind if Hornby signs on, but i'd have wanted an upgrade over either keeper really. I'd imagine if Hornby signs his extension, we look to offer out ROD? Still think we want to freshen up the options in goal. -
