Before my time, but could be the Home game against Derby County we lost 0-2 .The notes in programme for the game before (Halifax town) , said the game was a sell out.

No I am not saying that sitting back is never the answer but we need a point but I disagree about your last point there is more chance of finishing 8th than 3rd

Extremely tall order to make the autos. Even if we win both games there’s no way Northampton and especially Stockport (against already relegated Hartlepool) will blow up on the last day.

The damage was done against the likes of Swindon (home and away), Rochdale at home etc.

I agree, and whilst this was a sickener I don’t think we can say in the cold light of day we deserved 3 points as our first half performance was awful. Lewis also made 2-3 brilliant saves in the second half to stop us from throwing it away altogether and losing the game!

Two losses by 1 goal and a 2 goal victory for Mansfield and they are 7th I know the odds are in our favour but playing a team who are very good at Home then the best team over the season is a difficult finish so a point tomorrow would be very welcome

In fairness, Mansfield have just had two negative results and go to Colchester, whom themselves are in decent form... First defeat in 9, when losing at Doncaster on Saturday...5 defeats from 22 in this calendar year.. Certainly no given for Mansfield

If Salford lose by more goals than us we finish 7th.

Gillingham were a decent side at Valley Parade I can't see anything but a home win for Salford.

And every time we've bottled it, Hughes has said afterwards something along the lines of it being in our hands and knowing what we need to do, but then barring the odd game to keep our hopes up, we've gone on to do the exact opposite of what we need to do.

I agree it is what we have done throughout the season that determines our final position not the last couple of games. Last night was a mirror image of our whole season. I don’t think anyone was taking Crewe for granted, they have always had good footballing sides. My expectations were one of hope rather than underestimation. So it was never going to be easy. What bothers me about our team is I have no idea what to expect before each game. I am nervous from the off. There is absolutely no way the O’s are going to roll over and let us have our way, large crowd or not!

Likewise, even if we make playoffs I just have no idea how we will perform. If we play like last night and we may well do, hand on heart I think we will lose. We had control of that game for about 15 minutes. When we have been involved in playoffs before I have always been excited and optimistic in equal measures.

This season they seem to have gotten even worse. The consistency especially. Some refs give out yellows early for the softest things, some barely card. The time added on also, some refs will let every kind of time wasting happen and give 4 minutes, some let a game flow and give 8. But having to make big decisions has been so poor, when they've been put on the spot these refs take an eternity and rarely get it right.

Sometimes referees may have to make a call that they have seen through a crowd of players but this referee couldn't be any nearer and saw it all unfold before his eyes 5 yards away, I cant believe it did not get overturned.

Off the top of my head, the last Saturday night match I attended was a long time ago, away at Torquay. I don't think I've ever done a Sunday night match.

Aye, but come on folks we were playing Salford (BBC) City, the FA couldn't possibly upset those Manchester United Lovely's, Giggs, Butt and Neville and the 17 Salford fans now could they?
To be honest Mellish will be a big miss, those marauding runs from the back line and his unbelievable energy, we'll also be missing Gordon (on loan from Crystal Palace) plus a good number of injuries including our Captain and all round good egg 'Feeney', mind you most will be back for the final.:p
