Did Jewell pick who was bought? Wasn't that one of the reasons he said afterwards that Richmond just bought players?

Yes. I’d argue that Richmond had never heard of the likes of Regtop, Edinho. Sundgot, Sas, Steiner et al.

 

Based on Kamara's stint on TV last night, I would be surprised if he knew how to handle signing players.

 

Kamara chose McGinley, Richmond wanted Wayne Allison who went on to do well at Town.

 

But had Kamara or Jewell

 

I’d suggest Kamara will have had contacts. I don’t ever recall anyone claiming Richmond signed these players until today. They’ve always been attributed to Kammie

 

Kammie signed them, GR wrote the cheques. The only time I remember GR interfering in the signing players was during our second year in the Prem. He decided to lease players from some company bought a load of big names, spent an absolute fortune and sealed our fate.

 

Yep, that was my understanding too.

 

So back to the point but has anybody got a refund yet?

 

I might try get a refund for the periods between 1972-76...1978-81...1990-95...2006-11...when we WERE rubbish.

He just "knows the club" and "understands the process".

 

He said 'he was good, very good'. I will assume that encompasses the qualities of a coach we require.

Why assume anything and fill in the gaps? His qualities were specifically outlined. He knows the club and was the only guys who understood the process Rahic wants to implement. That makes him a "very good" appointment as far as Rahic is concerned. No reference to tactics, leadership, man management, organisation, implementation, etc, etc.

Whether a guy who has been a part time under 18s coach for a year would have the balls to tell his boss that he didn't agree with the plan he was implementing in the same way as a more experienced outsider is anybodies guess.

 

not many people have the coaching badge he has at his age. He has also been captain at clubs he has been at which show leadership qualities. Let’s wait and see

 

So was Paul Ince but his coaching/managing career went down the toilet. According to you, McCall is a poor coach and not good enough. Yet, one of the best skippers we’ve ever had

Totally agree with the second part, but think you're building up the first bit - on here its (possibly) 100 keyboard warriors who are annoyed and maybe 500 overall online (feel free to disagree with the figures I dont care) But I imagine the average city fan will raise an eyebrow (or at worst be disappointed it wasn't someone they knew) then after a few days of this they will get excited about the next signing then wait for the new season. If we win the first game no one will care who he is or what he is doing, then when he loses a game people will be back on his back, then he'll win and people will go back under the rock, then he'll lose and people will moan.... repeat until something major a) lost of losses - gets fired b) wins promotion then leaves to manage Sunderland....

Honestly I think people are getting too giddy on here the average fan has way more to worry about than if Edin picks the team - and if that team happens to win they'll care even less.
