We probably targeted players we could never afford like Kieffer Moore. Anyone could do that and say it went wrong. Work within the budget given, like Wyke

Can you imagine fans in 15/20 years time reminiscing about the “horror season of 20/21” and the likes of DMH and BRE.Every teams fans have there favourites over many years but can’t for the life of me think of anybody in this team who will be fondly remembered by anybody.Not a lot of ability and even less fight to make up for their obvious shortcomings. Even the slightly “weaker” players in those past teams offered something when required.Can only see one way that this current team is remembered in the future and everybody knows what that is.History makers for the worst reason possible.

I remember being at his debut away at Crewe. A thrilling 0-0. Think we’d signed a winger from Millwall at the same time (Darren Tracey?).

He was a typical target man in that he always looked sluggish and at times disinterested, but McCarthy, Jewell and Tinnion from midfield did relatively well playing off him. He got a lot of criticism at the time, but I was told a few years later by somebody who was at the club at the time that he was quite shy rather than arrogant and was actually a nice lad. He also suffered badly with homesickness in his first year or so. Hardly ideal when you have the baying City mob on your back.

 

Think we all said this about 5 months ago.

Lack of players but more importantly a lack of quality.

 

I met him at a couple of supporter's nights at the club I went to with my wife, hardly any fans at those events. To his credit Steve Torpey along with Alan Dowson were the only players who turned up to those events. And yes he was a very shy lad and very well mannered. He actually drew our raffle ticket that won me and the wife pre match lunch with John Docherty and his wife (nice meal).
