Yep, this should be a club appointment, not someone who is part of McCall's managerial team.

However this is Bradford City, owned by someone with no experience in football, and run by someone whose career involved doing social media in Rugby League, so it won't be.

 

It's worrying, but the announcement isn't made yet, so they might surprise us by detailing the interview process and how they sifted through hundreds of applications before settling on an individual with great contacts and access to a huge wealth of data, and who will be here for the next two or three years.

I haven't a clue what formation the man plays from week to week. We have no identity on the pitch.

We will just get move Evans kind of signings if we don't get a DOF in. What I mean by that is a player that can play but we we have no clue where he fits in.

Salary cap is £1,5 million a year isn't it ? That's £28,846 per week. Little more than £1,000 per week per player, so where would the quality come on that figure ? If we have 20% left, that's £300,000 which for 26 weeks is £11,538 per week so that's more encouraging, but attention needs to be paid to how any signings now would impact on next years salary cap so looking at a 26 week scenario doesn't work.

Spot on. Even then, I'm not sure Stuart's conclusions are correct - maybe he's treating his knowledge of other clubs like the league table and not checking. Admittedly the following is from a scan of Wikipedia, but I just wanted to do a quick check for the job titles that other clubs in L2 list as part of their footballing personnel that we don't list on ours.

The closest we have to any of the above is a Performance Analyst. Despite initially wanting to look over other the footballing staff at other clubs out of curiosity, now leaves me feeling a little alarmed at how much we are lacking behind the scenes. In short, a lot has been made about this role over the past few days as a great step forward when in fact, it appears to me that this is merely us playing catch up.

This morning’s article indicates we don’t have a scouting network at all, are any other professional clubs in the same boat as us?

Genuine question as I just presumed all professional clubs had some sort of scouting network as part for the course.

 

in Sparks' interview posted earlier with WYS he stated the club don't have full-time scouts but scouts they use. these scouts will also work for other clubs.. who is to say these scouts have Bradford City's best interest at heart? we need our own department and have for years now.

Just to remind us of the 'bodies' already deemed essential to the running of our Club ... surely someone should be fighting the corner for more depth of structure on the football side of things!
