There's already been a vote so I'm not sure why people try to second guess how others feel about the ratings.

Does that include calling people "dicks" when you disagree with their posts?

At least an emoticon isn't directly abusive like some of your replies.

As I said above, if you think they are childish then you can switch yours off.

So a cartoon emoji retracts from its meaning? If I called you a sh!t, that would be unacceptable, but replying with the emoji is fine? Utter bollox..!

And as for calling someone a ‘dick’, I actually told him to stop being a dick. Besides, it is done with now, so you don’t need to bring it up again..!

Did you feel the need to raise Hoochy’s name calling with him? I must have missed it when you raised this point with him too!!!!

The point is that you openly state that you don't want ratings because you feel they can be used in a way you interpret to be abusive yet in written form you're more than happy to abuse other posters.

Do you see the hypocrisy or am I wasting my time here?

Who says I’m “more than happy” to abuse others? I rarely fall into the trap of abusing other posters these days but admit that sometimes I will post what some deem unacceptable.

Thing is, if I’m talking face to face with someone and they spout shite, I will tell them to stop ‘being a dick’. What would you do, whip out your crayons and draw me a turd????

Your views are far from balanced, hence why they cause so much aggravation. It's entirely why you tend to provoke arguments rather than debate. A balanced view would stimulate a balanced debate from most sides, something which is very rare when it comes to your posts... in my opinion of course.

So the rest can either take it or leave it so will be just as happy if you introduce them.

Not according to king karl " just over 50 people out of a 1250 membership".

So 62 posters out of 1250 have an opinion, well 58 because 4 are asking what ratings are, the MODs have enough on, you of all posters should know that ?.

But they are balanced. Just because you disagree, you are seeing it from one side.

Yes they cause some aggravation from some quarters, but there are many others that agree with the views.

I’ve even had a Mod (an impartial one BTW that isn’t just peddling his own views....) telling me that I offer quite a bit and not to lower myself with name calling others.

But of course, that’s my opinion ;)

I repeat my point though Karl. What were we actually voting on. If it’s to have the introduction of emojis that add zero value and just allow wind-up merchants to respond to posts they don’t agree with, with a silly cartoon emoji. Or were we talking specifically about ‘ratings’, such as “agree” or “disagree” etc?

Not surprised many didn’t respond; the question was too vague
    ;)

There clearly isn’t sufficient support to change something already there. I’m sure if you look at it in other walks of life, unless there is a big request to change something, it doesn’t get considered.

Why should this be any different?

If an election is held and the turnout is low the siting MP doesn’t just keep the seat. Using your logic you could also say there isn’t sufficient support to keep the status quo.

It is already getting considered otherwise Karl would t be discussing it

Just out of curiosity, do you have emojis of this type on The Cows Arse? Based on he fact that the majority of those on here asking for them, are members of that site, I’d be interested if you have demanded the same on there?!

And as I keep saying, there is a difference between ‘ratings’ and ‘emojis’.

From what I can see, 37 out of the 58 that have responded, have chosen ‘yes’ to ratings. So far ZERO people have voted for emojis (because that wasn’t the question).

But if I wanted the Government to make a policy change, I have to get significant backing in the form of a poll before it would be raised in Parliament and voted on. I’m not convinced 37 people out of a possible 1250 (less than 3%) warrants a change.
