Ratings .... Ye or Nay

So 62 posters out of 1250 have an opinion, well 58 because 4 are asking what ratings are, the MODs have enough on, you of all posters should know that ?.

 

But they are balanced. Just because you disagree, you are seeing it from one side.

Yes they cause some aggravation from some quarters, but there are many others that agree with the views.

I’ve even had a Mod (an impartial one BTW that isn’t just peddling his own views....) telling me that I offer quite a bit and not to lower myself with name calling others.

But of course, that’s my opinion

 

I repeat my point though Karl. What were we actually voting on. If it’s to have the introduction of emojis that add zero value and just allow wind-up merchants to respond to posts they don’t agree with, with a silly cartoon emoji. Or were we talking specifically about ‘ratings’, such as “agree” or “disagree” etc?

There clearly isn’t sufficient support to change something already there. I’m sure if you look at it in other walks of life, unless there is a big request to change something, it doesn’t get considered.

Why should this be any different?

 

If an election is held and the turnout is low the siting MP doesn’t just keep the seat. Using your logic you could also say there isn’t sufficient support to keep the status quo.

Just out of curiosity, do you have emojis of this type on The Cows Arse? Based on he fact that the majority of those on here asking for them, are members of that site, I’d be interested if you have demanded the same on there?!

 

And as I keep saying, there is a difference between ‘ratings’ and ‘emojis’.

From what I can see, 37 out of the 58 that have responded, have chosen ‘yes’ to ratings. So far ZERO people have voted for emojis (because that wasn’t the question).

But if I wanted the Government to make a policy change, I have to get significant backing in the form of a poll before it would be raised in Parliament and voted on. I’m not convinced 37 people out of a possible 1250 (less than 3%) warrants a change.

 

Not bothered by it at all. If it gets the go ahead, I’m not going to get all upset and create my own forum like some do.

But if folk such as you keep responding to me and either ask a question or accuse me of something, I’m going to respond aren’t I? Isn’t that how this thing works?

No you don’t. You just need one MP to bring it up in Parliament most government policy is introduced without any poll.

 

Can you list me all the members who voted for ratings and whether they are members of the votes arse forum please?

You brought the example up saying you needed a significant poll and support before having something brought up and discussed and voted on. I just pointed out that that isn’t correct. You just need a single MP to agree to do it, doesn’t even have to be your MP.
