Unless a strike is called in the next few hours, the Notts County match will be in the clear.

New strikes announced by ASLEF. Fortunately, they will only affect those travelling up the west coast mainline for the home match v Wimbledon, so they should have little impact for most City fans (and Wimbledon fans).

There will also be an overtime ban from Monday 29 January to Tuesday 6 February, which may cause a few cancellations on the days of our home quarter final in the EFL (Bristol Street Motors) Trophy and the home match v Wimbledon.

    The strike dates are:
    • Tuesday 30 January: Southeastern, Southern, Gatwick Express, Great Northern, Thameslink, South Western Railway and SWR Island Line
    • Wednesday 31 January: Northern Trains, Transpennine Express
    • Friday 2 February: Greater Anglia, C2C, LNER
    • Saturday 3 February: West Midlands Trains, Avanti West Coast, East Midlands Railway
    • Monday 5 February: Great Western, Cross Country, Chiltern.

Could have a big impact on our EFL Trophy QF, which is scheduled to take place on either 30th or 31st Jan.

Used to love travelling by train to long distance away games, but besides the price, just totally unreliable now.

I am just a teensy bit jealous of them, they have a damn sight more strikers than City can manage

The price is the only relevant factor. £280 for 2 adult return tickets to Swindon from Shipley is the reason I never have and never will use trains to follow city away.
I’ll stick with my gas guzzling petrol car and not have any ounce of guilt.

The few times I've had to endure.the train it's being a bit of nightmare. I like the idea of not having to drive but the service is so bad I cant trust it.

I travel for work on rail services and have always found reliability to be good but the cost is an absolute joke. I’d like someone from the rail industry to explain why a 200 mile journey costs nearly £300 for 2 people.
If the cost was comparable to my petrol cost I’d probably use trains most of the time on longer journeys

My brother is blind so can't drive and uses the train a lot where in lives in London. Gets compensation fairly regularly for poor service bit I guess it varies between individuals. The cost is shocking, especially when compared with Europe when I use the trains there.

It is saying there will be disruption tomorrow on the trains, because of a strike today.

Early morning trains tomorrow might be impacted because of trains in the wrong place from todays strike but the main disruption tomorrow is because there is "action short of strike" so some trains will be cancelled as there won't be the staff to cover them due to them refusing to work any overtime.
