Rail Strikes Impacting City Matches

    Just a heads up to anyone that uses the train to get to matches, there’s a strike on Sat 30th for the Walsall game.

    I normally use the car but may not be able to use it this weekend, and the train was my contingency. Looks like it’s a long slow bus ride for me.

    The 268 bus from Wakefield goes through to Bradford,and they are every 15 mins.Downside is it takes 1hour 40 mins,which is ridiculous.

    The 12:49 from Wakefield Kirkgate to Bradford is still
    running tomorrow.

    Nearly 3 hours to get up today (100 miles) due to the volume of traffic, especially on the M6.

    I expect that's partly due to today's strike.

    Just a word of warning regarding forthcoming rail strikes. The RMT have just had their strike mandate renewed for another 6 months and, along with ASLEF, it seems they are planning to bring the rail network to a standstill on every pre-Christmas Saturday in December (additional strikes in November can't be ruled out either).

    There is a high risk that these matches will be affected:
    Saturday 9 December 2023 (H) v Salford City
    Saturday 16 December 2023 (A) v Gillingham
    Saturday 23 December 2023 (A) v Doncaster Rovers

    They obviously think it is worth it. Pick up an extra overtime shift on another day instead to cover the shortage

    Looking at November, Notts County away could be one that be impacted, managed to find it for £25 return but holding off buying until it's guaranteed to run.

    Nottingham seems very high on the list of short notice cancelled trains from Leeds.
    A daily occurrence, it's always a possibility.

    Nottingham has a piss poor rail link anyway. It makes Bradford look like the hub for HS1
