Two more strikes called by the RMT, on:
    Saturday 26 August 2023 - (h) v Crewe Alexandra; and
    Saturday 2 September 2023 - (a) v Mansfield Town.

I posted this thread, so that anyone who normally travels by train, to City matches, can make alternative arrangements for the affected matches.

Any discussion regarding the rights and wrongs of the strikes belong in the 'General Chat' section. https://bantamtalk.com/index.php?threads/rail-strikes.7399/

Can we have a poll to see how many on here actually travel frequently by rail to City away games.
    I bet there’s not many.

I had been thinking of going on Tuesday by train, but because of the timetable and games now running on for ever and ever I wouldn’t get back to my local station until after midnight, no connecting bus so would still have to drive. I reckon I can be home for 11.00pm if I use the car.

I do go to London games by train. So in the last ten years, Orient, Wimbledon, Charlton, Milwall. I would consider going by train to Sutton and Crawley. One of the reasons train is preferable is that I stay with my daughter in London and parking down there is a nightmare.

I think travelling into central London via train is probably the only time I’d consider it and even then I just find rail travel faffy

If I'm having a beer before and after the game I Will use the Skipton to Bradford train, rather than a bus.
The train is always pretty well used when I do so there are a number of people who use them.

As for away games, the Morecambe Train this weekend is likely to be standing room only.

Same here. For Leyton Orient last season I drove down to Epping, parked there for free on a side road, and got the tube down to Leyton. The only other time I have done similar was Wembley, parking at Stanmore and then tube to Wembley

Crawley and Sutton I just drove as parking was easy and free near their grounds, and trains are generally too unreliable when you are that far from home
