The country doesn’t grind to a halt whenever there’s a rail strike.
Maybe the greedy RMT members should realise it.

Fighting job cuts/ticket office closures is greedy?

I’ve just noticed that anyone that gets the train on the Ilkley line, the line is shut to Bradford due a landslide and will not reopen until the 12 March!

That long. Last time I looked, Thursday, they rckoned it would be open by the weekend. So no trains from Baildon? Are they running buses?

None at all train wise, looks like they’re running buses to Shipley then you can get the train from there.

Who cares anymore. All the ever lasting train strikes have done is convince me that it's not even a consideration when it comes to transport.

It's a shame really because every time I go to Europe I see shining examples of useable transport systems yet in this country, if you don't drive, you often can't travel.

Of course job cuts aren't great but I can completely understand the reduced need for ticket offices. I've just travelled to a foreign country and used both a ticket machine and a smart phone app to purchase tickets and navigate my way around an absolutely huge City with very few issues.

I found Berlin's transport system a doddle to use and of a very high standard. Similar to other European cities.

I agree, every European City break I've been on I've found the train and tram systems not only easy to navigate but extremely clean and always punctual.
