Well I do love a bit of optimism. Tell you what write to him, even one letter of support might cheer him up.

OR ........ He concentrates on not f*cking up his own job whilst picking fault with what the experts are doing.
    In other words .......
'Edin - Just sit behind that wonderful desk of yours, sign off the bills on time, and enjoy the thrill of being a football chairman, knowing all football matters are being managed by professionals - Both on and off the pitch.
(PS .... I left a copy of PR for feckwits in the top right hand drawer ;) )'

Wethers put his finger on it for me in giving advice to Collins.

"Does he want to be a first-team manager or someone in football charged with developing players rather than getting results? They are two extremely different approaches."

As Wethers says, the approach to getting results on the pitch is very different to the one required to develop players. Or if you like 'You can't do both'. But Rahic has said in the past that the first team coach must do both! That insight from the experienced Wethers who has probably forgotten more about football than Rahic ever knew shows the fundamental weakness in Rahic's approach. If Rahic doesn't adapt his approach going forward to reflect this kind of advice from the likes of Wethers, I don't expect Hopkin to be hanging around too long.

Bradford need a director of football. Someone with a proven record for spotting talent, seeing them developing and selling on for big profits to reinvest back in the team.

    Barry Fry would be perfect...

Would much more prefer Mick McCarthy, His knowledge and experience of the game and the ability to spot a player are just the qualities we need.

What complete and utter rubbish, that's not what Wethers is saying whatsoever. Wetherall is saying is that getting results on the pitch requires a different skill set to those required to develp players which is unequivocally different to saying that the skills required to win matches and develop players are mutually exclusive.

Which is why I think Collins should still be involved within the club. In my opinion of course.

In the long run that's possibly the saddest thing about this situation, by the sound of it we have lost a very talented youth team coach.

Totally agree. I know someone who worked with him and he said Collins is extremely talented and passionate about the coaching/development of players

Your note though good is missing something.

    Where is our input?

I would suggest he needs to bring the cost to the consumer up to the level of other 'ambitious' clubs in our division. £169 for a season ticket is ridiculous.

I would suggest £300, (actually I really think 350/400 is more realistic if we are ambitious) £13 per game, is a reasonable number and this would help to fill the coffers to uplift the team budget.

I know people will throw the 'Bradford people can't afford that much' or 'crowds will drop to 5000 at that price' etc etc etc. if that is the case then that speaks volumes about Bradford City supporters. Luton Town, a depressed town who charge £400, still manage to average 8500 a game.

Let's assume 7000 Luton supporters as the season ticket total and they are still ahead of us in total ST income. Let's be frank our 'big crowds' haven't done us any favours in the past few years (and lower crowds doesn't seem to hurt our rivals) so a drop in numbers but with more money coming into the club is not to be sniffed at.

Step back now (in attendance) get more money for the team (increased prices) leading to promotion, leads to higher attendance, leads to more income etc etc etc

OK Let's assume the £300 price loses us a third of our current ST. We go from 15k to 10k. Our income still rises by 500k (15k x 169/10k x 300).

We need to do our bit instead of looking for someone else to put their hands into their pockets whilst maintaining unsustainable low pricing for their product.

Something for the board to think about and something I would actively support.

100000% I remember reading , i believe it was in sabotage times (a blog), anyway https://sabotagetimes.com/football/bradford-city-legend-david-wetherall-on-the-clubs-shocking-rise-and-fall , not this article but i cant seem to find the one im referring to, anyway.

Hopkin said! that Richmond told him he didnt like him and he was to be sold, although he had never met him. and he forced him out of the club.

    anyway...

Did anyone see the video, first inerview on youtube , where he had to correct himself and say 'head coach'

i 1000% believe obviously hopkin wont turn down some ££ , hes come here because he was out of work, and it could lead to other jobs in england, hes obviously got a good record in scotland

The board knew what the ST price was and loved it when they bought the club.

    A complete no goer.

BTW, it has never been a problem for wealthier fans to give the club a little more, should they deem it appropriate.

I'm more than surprised he and Drury weren't offered their old jobs back seeing as they were doing such a sterling job, 3rd bottom someone said ?.

Don't forget that if we lose a third of our fans we also lose a third of the people who buy refreshments and club merchandise etc, we also lose a third of the potential local audience for our sponsors.

Of course not, but trying to do both efficiently is!
