Just interested how much following you think there is for a 'protest' be that in whatever form (excluding boycotting as people stay away for different reasons)
Had a quick look and SOC1903 has 50 likes on Facebook, 700 On Twitter... the Flyby thing has 59 people supporting it... none of these numbers say to me there is wide spread support or appetite for protest at this time.

On here obv overwhelming support for protest but how many members are active 500?

I think people may be overestimating the support of any protest, my own opinion - a flyby would be booed at the moment or et with bemused looks by most as the timing makes no sense.

SOC1903 - interesting concept and if it can be built over time then come January I can see a similar idea to the SOS which had a good success....

    Just wondering peoples thoughts really...

I suppose the question is all about awareness. How many City fans use Twitter? I’d wager not that many. It’s doing ok on Twitter to say it’s only 24hrs old and the Facebook page only went live earlier today. I’d hope that as the weeks pass and the page is retweeted and the Facebook page shared and followed that more people will become aware that the group is alive and kicking. Only time will tell.

Yep that's kinda what I was saying.... a slow buildup is good where as doing anything half co*k thinking you've got support you probably don't have is another thing

    I think it will grow.

At least 4000 fans not turning up at the moment.

Social media probably doesn't touch a good proportion of our fanbase, but if things don't improve on the pitch then stuff like the flyby will engage fans.

So dont see where you get the notion it would be booed

We're already seeing the reaction of fans to a combination of poor performances on the pitch and the behind the scene shenanigans. Even when we've had 'official' attendances in excess of 15,000, a look around VP indicates something less than that. And that's without those 3,000 or so who didn't bother to renew their STs before the season started. And now it looks like the club publicised the 'actual' attendance, ie bums on seats for the Coventry game at around 11,000.

People are voting with their feet in their own groups of family or mates and as yet there hasn't been any organised protest of any type. I see the actual attendances going in one direction only at the mo. And that's before the fly by has even left the ground! ;)

To be fair, there is supporting protest and actual protesting.

You're saying the number or protestor is low: you're then assuming the number of those who would support protest is also low.

I'm curious to know how you leap to that conclusion?

Personal experience? What are your friends saying?

My thoughts exactly. Anybody who thinks that ER would be influenced by a lower match day attendance is dillusional. This could only have a detrimental affect on the welfare of BCFC. Both on a team moral perspective and a financial aspect. Making ones feelings felt through banners, flyovers & protests etc is acceptable but lets not destroy the very fabric of this great club, even if others seem hell bent on doing so.

No I'm saying the number if actual physical supporters is low at the minute - there probably are more silent supporters but you'll struggle to get that number...
Just simple maths really - none of these groups at present would have anything approaching broad support of the fans.. as others have said it's growing but nowhere near yet.

Friends... hhhmmm honestly most of them know better than to follow city!

Not bizarre. Both OT flyovers were booed. The Masses may agree with the general message but its massively disruptive. As you have to advertise its going to happen before it shows up it has a weird impact on the atmosphere as everyone is paying more attention to the sky than the match (even when they don't like the idea). It also makes the fanbase look like twats as its seen as being a bit 'classless' to do it and people don't like being tarred with that brush so take their anger at those involved out at anyone who claps it and that then has a negative impact on the atmosphere even more.

As @Haworth Bantam@Haworth Bantam said you need a coherent 'protest' plan and ideally an end solution already in place and it needs to be something that the majority can get behind. Anything which could damage the players/teams performance in a match or which may cause long-term damage to the club is always going to struggle to get mass support

An opinion would be something with no evidence to back it up. A Fact is something with evidence to back it up. There have been a number of these done since the Moyes one and every single one has had negativity and comments about the lack class from the majority of the football fans. Even inside thats clubs fanbase the majority have felt it a classless tactic

And just go and look at twitter about this one. There is more negativity from City fans than positivity
