Whatever other results are it’s absolutely imperative we win our two remaining home games

Well given the second home game is the last game of the season, we'll go into it knowing whether we've been doing enough or not.

    I suspect not.

That Fleetwood game could be huge, question is, will we be in the top 3 or chasing?

I think we are going to have to go and get a win against either Chesterfield or Doncaster as well as beat Notts next week to leave us on a good footing before Fleetwood.

At worst, draw both away games. Can't afford any more defeats away, especially in the Donny game.

I really hope Doncaster don't win.

Slipping to 3rd with a mere 1 point cushion, and worse GD, than 4th would just be far too close for comfort.

Sitting in 2nd somehow feels a lot more comfortable going into Thursday.

Think we are in a battle for 3rd place with Walsall
It helps their form has nosedived and shows no signs of improvement
We need to get back on the points trail and should be ok
Would I have taken this at the start of the season you bet I would !!!

We win our two remaining home games then its gonna need Walsall to magically muster up 8 points which is tough when there in such bad form.

Unfortunately Donny aren't losing lately. Unbeaten in 6, just 1 defeat in 10. But they have some tough fixtures now and Salford know a win gets them right back into the PO race.

We have started to fall at completely the wrong time. Just 2 wins in 7, with 4 defeats in that time, woof! Saturday HAS to be a wake up call, that this is still in our hands but the time for letting games slip has gone. That cannot happen again. Title is Vales now in my book. It's going to be 2 of 3 from Donny, Walsall and City and Walsall have 4 winnable fixtures whereas us and Donny have very tough ones.

Absolutely Steve, now is not the time to dwell on Saturdays defeat, that game was definitely a one off, on to Thursday get through that with a win and see were we are, dont Forget the pressure is on for all the top teams, any professional footballer should thrive on our position this is not the time for any player to hide or iff they do hopefully our crowd will let them know, this is what they have been playing for all season to be in this position any right manager will have them up for it.

What changes do we think happen for the promotion charge to get back on track on Thursday?

I'd happily never see Byrne again this season, but i suppose that will depend on Baldwin being fit again? Jatta is a physical monster and McGoldrick will want it to feet and will play in the pocket between the CM and CBs, awful time to lose your only real DM. Khela and Pattison as the midfield 2? Plenty of energy in there as Notts will want to play a possesion based game and tick it around us, having that energy to break away with the ball will be huge. Is it too early for Sarcevic to start? Does Lapslie come back in?

Walsall have an easy run in but your talking about a team that is in dire form whose confindence is shot .........before kick off they knew they had the chance to go above us but failed yet again ...........put it this way we win our two home games then it would mean that Walsall would need at least 8 points to go above us on paper but easier said than done when your form is shocking.

And 3 out of there 4 games are against teams who may have something to play for.
Harrogate still in a bit of danger
Accy Stan could be in real danger if Carlisle keep picking up points.
Crewe may need the points to get a play off place and isnt that a localish derby ???? You know that there fans like for spoiling a party.

Its a shame Crewe have dropped off so much, they need a 6 point swing inside of 4 games and need to out point score 4 other teams, might have left themselves a little too much to climb. Harrogate are safe, not a chance Carlisle or Morecambe get to 47 points. Accrington is the one, they will need a performance I think.

It's who recovers first, I guess? We need to wake up and fast, 3 very hard games next for us against 3 promotion chasers and we are going to have to go at them with a fresh CM combination. I have more faith in us getting a result from a Notts/Donny type team than I am Fleetwood if I'm honest.

I know what your getting at but maybe Harrogate will go into that game with no pressure on them and these type of teams can cause you problems as well.
Get the job done on Thursday and it really does put the pressure on Walsall to win if not then i would say they have deffo gone.
Still why would Bettys FC do us any favours :( we go up they lose a big payday

Getting the job done Thursday is the main part, I don't even think a draw will do if I'm honest. A draw keeps us in the loop but wins put the pressure on the pack.

Harrogate tbf are decent at home, they haven't lost in 9 at home now after Saturdays late comeback. Also, it looks like Harrogate only have 7 players under contract for next season, so there will be lots of lads playing for a contract. Fingers crossed they can pull something out against Walsall. They might swap out away gate for York fans i suppose?

Not sure Jatta is a monster with what I saw of him against Salford, when Tilt got about him he was bitching to the referee and was anonymous throughout the game, now (old head) McGoldrick can be a handful, I hope Alexander makes them aware it's what we do and not worry about County.
Hopefully we are rid of the illness in the camp and as you say the likes of Lapslie, Sarcevic, Pattison, Pointon, Leigh, Badwin are available.

Was just thinking of our handling (or lack of) of Jatta in the past games, he's 4 goals and 1 assist to his name in his 2 games against us and both times they beat us 3-0. He's only got 1 goal in his last 7 starts..... wish I hadn't read that now.

Can we not send a couple of the poorly players down to Notts to give him a hug?

At the game in December although both Jatta and McGoldrick did the damaged it was Cowley who pulled the strings, without doubt Jatta's a danger and he'll top 20 for the season we just need to make sure if the does score against us we scored one more;).
