I think to be fair mate you have to work a hell of a lot harder now to even get a job than you did 30 years ago. My old man regales me with tales of how he would frequently work drunk in the 80s and get in no trouble whatsoever, because almost everyone else was too. Would never happen today. You could also then pretty much walk straight into another job if you left one back then, now there's 200 people going for jobs at Tescos. It is way more competitive and dog eat dog now than it was imo, because back then manufacturing and factory jobs were dominant which are usually team roles that require everyone to work well collectively, as opposed to office roles where the guy on your team is now your competition. I respect your opinion mate but I do probably unsurprisingly disagree haha.

 

Then why do the royal family even exist then? Kind of just exemplifies my point as to how anachronistic they are in the modern age. Myth or not, that some people by birth are privileged beyond belief (which on its own isn't the issue), and that we should all support them and glad hand them for being so is a subject mentality to me, regardless of what my passport says Dennis.

I would like to clarify also if people want to support the royals and such they are entirely welcome to, but not for me thanks.

 

Your dad has weird memories, In the 80s I never saw anyone working drunk, Maybe like now a Monday morning hangover but with mass unemployment you could be replaced the same day by an employer if you did not perform or was off sick,
As for jobs in the 80s we had over 3 million unemployed nearly double what it is today, 200 for every job was the normal and not unusual for it to be far higher with reports of up to a thousand applications, The truth is you never had it so good
