That's being kind. He has enough mechanical/technical brain to be a qualified helicopter pilot, but other than that, he has resonance where the rest of his brain ought to be. I used to have a bit of sympathy for him -- not much, admittedly, but a bit -- but he's in danger of losing most of that now too.

I detect more than a slight whiff of the Marklebeast in the book. Now there is a study in self-defeating entitled arrogant tone-deaf grasping narcissistic gluttonous paranoic inadequacy. A classic horizontal climber. 3rd rate actress marries producer -- or was it director? -- but ditches him when the career does not advance as she thinks it should. Does the Hollywood thing of marrying a prince, but instead of a prince with a future chooses a dead-end prince (unless he goes all Kind Hearts and Coronets on his family). Still, in exchange for doing some proper acting, as The Duchess, she would have been set for life: money, titles, public accolades... But thanks to her many character flaws, she couldn't even manage that.

I wonder how long it will be before another divorce occurs. Harry has burnt so many bridges now that it might be impossible for him to return home and return to his proper position. Perhaps his father will forgive him, but I wouldn't bet on the brother. It is such a relief to know that William is the elder son!

I nearly choked on my dinner listening to this comment from a Talban leaders : ""The ones you killed were not chess pieces, they were humans; they had families who were waiting for their return," is that after they'd blown several dozen innocent Afghan's up attending prayers.

 

Amazing that Harry and Meghan just wanted a quiet life yet you cannot get the fookers out of the media now ............... seriously you don’t think there are lions out there who will be hellbent on getting at the royal family on the back of this ????

 

Similar situation for the families waiting for their loved ones to return home after a day working in the twin towers. Or the firefighters going out to respond to a job and not come back. I also sneered at those comments. Ridiculous, but unfortunately Harry has given them a platform for retort again.

 

I'm not sure any left wing commentators are suggesting there is no interest in the book. It's the right wing commentators who claim no one cares who are going to great length to report on it.

I've seen some who are so daft they are actually saying they are de humanising the Taliban. Imagine falling on the side of the Taliban on this.

Harry has also gone on to say that part of the book is to help veterans who are sat suffering in silence because they feel they can't discuss their experiences so they end up going and killing themselves. It's ok you can talk about it.

The best part of it is how trigger Dan Wootton is, and that Harry didn't even mention him by name.

Good on him selling 1.4m books, and good on those who read it rather than rely on the Daily Mail to put their slant on it.

 

What about the media back when they plasters the front pages like this whilst he was actively serving?

 

The Taliban don't need a book from Prince Harry to act. They need countries like Pakistan who gave them a safe space to exist whilst the armed forces were in Afghanistan so they could just march back in on the day the armed forces left.

 

There's always an appearance on I'm a Celebrity etc....

It wouldn't have prevented them, but it is the media who are putting it out there.

I had no idea Prince Harry had a book coming out, nor did I know he had an interview coming up on the TV, but the last week due to the media and probably for the next week all I have heard is about his book and TV interview.

So many people like me wouldn't even be aware of it had the media not flooded the news with it. You can't avoid it. If I don't want to read his book or watch him on Netflix then that is easy to avoid. However if he is in every newspaper, on every TV channel and on every website then yes the media does play a massive part in this.

 

I couldn’t give a rats arse about how many books some posh kid may, or may not have sold. Neither should anybody else.

 

Not only that he says he wants his dad and brother back and then rakes everything back up.

Lastly imagine a Marine getting out on his arse by a Lifeguard helicopter pilot, not exactly typical Marine

 

Bridges well and truly burnt methinks.
