I wonder if their press team has the balls to tell them no one really gives a shit about them and that they should stop embarrassing themselves even more and just disappear into their own ignominy.

 

Maybe if the media shut up about them they would be half way there.

I can only think an appearance on Graham Norton followed by an interview with that nauseous Richard Madeley could resurrect their celebrity status?

The thing is they are all falling over themselves to report about them. Doesn't today's Mail have about 15 pages dedicated to them, they are on ITV tonight and you know it will be all over breakfast TV tomorrow.

If the media ignored them like they say they will but don't then I for one will be happy not having it all over the place when there are far more important issues in this country at the moment.

 

They will only stop talking about them if people stop. Whilst we are still discussing them on threads like this the press will carry on

Why? Would that have prevented the Oprah interview, the Netflix documentary and the book releases?

These two (or certainly one) are fame hungry and being in the spotlight was always the end game for the, ahem, very private couple who moved away to remove themselves from the said spotlight.

 

It wouldn't have prevented them, but it is the media who are putting it out there.

I had no idea Prince Harry had a book coming out, nor did I know he had an interview coming up on the TV, but the last week due to the media and probably for the next week all I have heard is about his book and TV interview.

So many people like me wouldn't even be aware of it had the media not flooded the news with it. You can't avoid it. If I don't want to read his book or watch him on Netflix then that is easy to avoid. However if he is in every newspaper, on every TV channel and on every website then yes the media does play a massive part in this.

 

He's a (former?) Prince, of course the media will report on it but it certainly wouldn't be as hyped as it is without their behaviour and blatant media manipulation over the last couple of years.

 

The Mail has got 37 stories about Harry on the main website page.

There is reporting and there is obsession. This does not fall under reporting.

 

I'll take your word for it, I don't buy newspapers and certainly don't seek them out online.

The TV also gets changed over at the merest hint of a news programme as it's impossible getting an unbiased report of anything these days.

I too wish they would do as they claim to have wanted to do, and just disappear into private life, never to be heard from again. Or that they'd be sent to rule over South Georgia -- as the only permanent inhabitants there.
