    - Fair enough..It's a way of getting votes I suppose.

The proposal - under "infrastructure funds" reads: "Any club which has an eligible project that was completed in the last ten years … and with a minimum spend of £50 million per project receives 50 per cent of the assistant payments they would be eligible to receive under this program for 15 years (eg Tottenham, Liverpool, Man City and Brighton ) resulting in a total of 25 per cent of the capital improvement."

City and Brighton had works completed on their stadiums in 2015 and 2011 respectively.

The proposal would be of huge benefit to Everton, as they could receive half of the £500m needed to build their new stadium at Bramley Moore Dock, while Liverpool are also looking to make further developments to their stadium.

The problem with having integrity is you end up leaving the work to those who lack it.

Is that what Greg Abbott was talking about a to why he didn't quit under Rahic?

But will the money be used by EFL club owners to improve the team and improve grounds and amenities for the paying fans, we've just had a salary cap introduced, or will it just to into their back pockets ?.

Whilst that is understanable i think this is a tad naive. Are there any rules that - in this scenario clearly state on what grounds you can vote against a buyer? Otherwise its Turkeys voting for christmas. I could be more accepting if there is history of this happening in the PL but i cannot recalled a wigan or a bury happening in the PL. This is because - i believe, that the PL is already quite stringent in their process.

I wondered what had contributed to fxcxing up football.
    It's obviously this lot.

Football got on fine with minimal rule changes over the years from about 1890.

Why are we changing the rules now?

(rhetoric question, no need to answer).

The majority of it is caused by mismanagement in the efl yet we plod on with them in charge.

There are three very different issues intertwined in the Man U/Liverpool proposal. Firstly a power grab by the Big 6 who feel they deserve a bigger share of the PL's riches. Secondly, a way for PL to be seen to helping the rest of the pyramid by sharing more of the TV rights with EFL clubs (without Govt involvement) and a third which overlaps with the other two, getting rid of the parachute system which is very costly and produces an uneven playing field in the Championship. Personally speaking, I'm in agreement with two of the three and if the price of achieving greater financial stability in the EFL is for a handful of PL clubs to lose out, I'd settle for the overall deal. I can say that since I have little or any interest in the PL clubs who regard a payment of £190mill to the club finishing bottom of the PL as a suitable payment for failure!

I'm expecting other proposals to be put on the table shortly offering a very different solution. I'd guess that some of the midle to lower PL clubs will be actively involved in these new proposals.

Do the Premier league not take all the EFL rights and just redistribute with the PL money but to us? How do we know they are getting the best deal for us?
The gap will be even greater it will not fix a lopsided championship. Plus I don’t think many side in the last 5 seasons or so has gone straight back up to the premier league when relegated?

Yes. That's the proposal. In overall terms, the PL broadcasting contracts are worth about 10 times the value of the EFL's TV contracts. The proposal is to amalgamate the two and give the EFL a guaranteed 25% of the total. Even when the share of the PL contract provided to EFL clubs via the solidarity payments is taken into account, it means the EFL will receive approaching twice the value of their current TV contracts. That's a good deal in my book for EFL clubs. If the cost is met largely by no longer paying huge parachute payments then it will be good for the Championship whose clubs are seriously impacted by competing with clubs in receipt of parachute payments bidding up the price of Championship players. Add in a some kind of salary cap in the Championship (as is currently being resisted by clubs in receipt of parachute payments) and the entire EFL will be placed on a more sustainable basis. That's what is important for the long term survival of the EFL.

@AgainstLeague3 are maintaining a rolling record of who is in favour and who is against Project Big Picture. Not too many have shown their hand yet, but this was the position as at 08:18 this morning:

Largely agree with this and if the proposal for the voting in the PL was to remain as now would be a move forward

I understand that but why the need for the top 6 to have all the power. They could turn around in a few years and say ah EFL is a burden. We only want to give them 15% now. They’ve got their salary caps in place and should be sustainable.
There is no way we should lose the League cup or restrict the top league to 18 teams.
