The awful PA system, rancid toilets and bird shit covered seats were probably enough to put the casual fans off anyway.

I agree there is an opportunity to do something. We sold out the ground (even if many were Liverpool fans) and the momentum is building again for the new season.

Why not offer a discount on pre-match tickets for the first home game? Adult tickets £15? or kids in free with every paying adult?

Or even look to sell a group of tickets for the first four games at a discounted price?

There is scope to do something without pissing off the ST holders.

    Why should they?
They've done enough loads of opportunities to get 1

I left my decision to re-new until a couple of weeks ago, so payed full price.
No problem, my choice, but it would bring a shower of complaints from some if they now drop the price again.

As Shoatsy said, everyone had plenty of time and they are not particularly expensive now.

I was more pissed off with losing the seat I have sat in since Midland Rd opened, but there again no-ones fault but mine.

Your missing the point. Any chance to promote a product on the back of a big event is a no brainer. It costs very little as its the event itself thats promoting it. Bar a cup game against a top six premier side we won’t have that sort of interest at Valley Parade for at least two years, more likely longer. You take every chamce you get, not to do so is bad business practice.

100% the same situation as me, paid a little more, but still pretty cheap even now. Really not sure why they'd do another offer, like you say, everyone's had plenty of time previously, coupled with us making some decent signings early on - they shouldn't need anymore persuading/incentives in my opinion.

Yep. Whether it’s reduced pricing or just pushing advertising for STs and Flexis. Or even just a discount flier for the gift shop, it’s a missed opportunity.

Sorry you are wrong on this one. Regardless of efforts before, which have been fairly successful, the Liverpool game was a great opportunity to bring in more long term supporters and promote the name of Bradford City to a new audience. There’s a huge potential of untapped support and there isn’t an organisation out there that wouldn’t take advantage of an event such as Sunday. They are actually waiting for the info coming back to see what interest Sunday did promote in terms of tickets sold/ enquiries made about potential purchases.

Why? If you have already bought a ticket so what? Isn’t going to hurt anyone who already has one. The pursuit of new supporters doesn’t end just because a deadline has come and gone.

What about doing a postal shoot on those that bought tickets for the Liverpool game? We could offer a discount, surely it is better than having empty seats? Accompany this with a social media blitz, video’s of players saying how much they appreciate fan support? Have the photos and videos as part of the promotion.

    "Unbelievable showing"?

We had a fortunate penalty awarded and without the two attempts that were rightly offside there wasn't really much else to cheer.

I understand it was Liverpool and they've some talented players, I've no argument with them battering us. I'm just curious to know why you described it in the way you did?

Maybe advertising the current offer would have been a good idea on Sunday.

Even at a reduced price a ST is unlikely to appeal to a 'new' audience. A lot of people who rarely see live football in the flesh (so to speak) are not going to shell out for a ST.
It's not only a big financial commitment its also a big time commitment. The beauty of a ST is that it makes regularly attending football more affordable than pay-on-the-gate. Despite the relatively cheap price of our STs it"s still a big ask to expect someone who's only seen us play 1 friendly to shell out and commit to turning up each home game for 9 months.
What I would hope is that the circa 5000 ex ST/flexi card holders we've lost over the last couple of seasons came along last Sunday and got some feeling that the club is beginning to return to the pre-Rahic days and start to drift back next season.

Wasn’t the day about raising money and awareness for the charity?

How crass would it look if the we jumped on the bandwagon, for the benefit of the club, rather than the real reason folk were there.

Well done to the club. It raised national interest and that alone should be a good enough advertising coup. Hopefully we make a good start to the season and the casual supporters will return, paying full price for the privilege.

Unfortunately you can't grow your club unless you are successful, which until last season Bradford City have done very well.
The cheap season ticket prices have helped off the field without doubt but whether we like it or not if our club is not successful you won't build a fan base on poor results, as has been debated many times.
The years I've been going as a football club in a very large catchment area we have had poor attendances in the past only increasing with how the club have performed the previous season, In the Championship our attendances were poor in comparison because of our previous league status usually 3rd or 4th division, even in the Premiership days we didn't sell out.

There’s scope for a ten game deal or something similar, get people involved at the start then make they pay full price for the rest.

However we would of been better off advertising tickets at the actual price on the weekend IMO.

There would have been plenty of folk at VP either for the first time or returning after a lengthy sabbatical. Many, like me bringing their kids for the first time too. If you’ve got them over the doorstep and they have a fun day out, then when are you going to get a better time to push sales, outside of a promotion?

The bulls have just launched a mini ticket which seems to work well, a try(tri) pass probably easier for there marketing mind, which is 3 tickets for £45. These can be used in any combination ie 3 adult tickets for one game or one adult ticket for the last three games.

Something similar may pick up a few on the pre season buzz

Only if they were to advertise at the current price. Then yes I can agree with you

Back to the "chicken & egg" senario put season ticket prices up and see how fans react, the previous seasons succsess would have a big influance.
Or keep them low and know the fans will back the offer.
